"FreightTrainBoogie.com"

"a great sense of melody [that] bridges the gap between pop and country without going overboard. There's just some clever, melodic songwriting with some meaningful lyrics. It may fall under the classification of pop, but there's not an abundance of "power" and plenty of roots-rock touches to keep country fans happy.”

“an ear for a compelling melody and a telling hook.”

Bio

Tad Overbaugh is a rock/alternative-country singer-songwriter from the coastal town of Swampscott, MA, 12 miles north of Boston. Tad is best known for his work with his previous band The Kickbacks (1996-2009) and for writing "songs that ring with depth, authenticity, and plenty of hook-infused power.” - (Pop Culture Press)

2015 brings the release of "Beauty & Barbed Wire", his first solo album, recorded in Nashville, TN and Swampscott, MA. This record offered the opportunity to collaborate with old friend and former Kickbacks’ guitarist Shawn Byrne, now a producer/songwriter/lead guitar sideman in Nashville, TN. Several tracks were co-written with another good friend, best-selling thriller novelist James Hankins, also from Swampscott, MA. The result is a rock and country hybrid sound reflecting on the complexities of love (Lethal Charm, End Of The Decade, Tip My Girl), life (Bill Stares At The TV, North Side Of The Grass, Done With This Town) and loss (Can't Be Gone, Breakdown Lane, Scars Along The Way).  The album features several great musicians from the Nashville area including Nick Buda (Slaid Cleaves, Will Hoge) on drums, Tommy Hannum (Steve Earle, Jim Lauderdale, Ron Sexsmith) on pedal steel, Mike Webb (Chris Knight, Pistol Annies) on B3 organ and Shawn Byrne on lead guitar.

Tad’s current live band, Tad Overbaugh & The Late Arrivals, consists of Bruce Freisinger (lead guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Arnold (bass), Rick Cranford (drums). They can be found performing in and around the Boston area on a regular basis. The collective band members have opened up for The Drive By Truckers, Son Volt, The Bottle Rockets, Cracker, Slobberbone, Robbie Fulks, Tim Easton, and Will Hoge.

Tad is currently promoting "Beauty & Barbed Wire", writing new songs and continuing to hone his home studio chops.
