Bio
I moved to London from the Turkish town Nurhak at the age of 11. I started playing Alevi songs with my baglama at the age of 7 in Nurhak and Baglama was my main instrument until the age of 20. By the age of 23 Kopuz became my main instrument and I had started experimenting with the combination of Alevi and western music.
I have studied with great musicians like Erkan Ogur and Dertli Divani.
For the past 5 years I've been studying and experimenting with different instruments of the baglama family from the eastern Turkey all the way to Iran, like the Tanbour and Ruzba. In the mean time I've been arranging songs and collaborating with various artists in London, Turkey, Iran and Poland. These names include Ozan Figani, Cigdem Aslan, Arash Moradi, Ozan Toprak and Raphael Roginski.
I am currently working on my first solo album.
