Bio

Tahiti Boy has been around for a while, even though he has not been performing under that name so much yet...
He has been seen with a bunch of very inspired projects before : his former band Spontane, Mike Ladd, Beans, Busdriver etc…

Mr Boy has also had the opportunity to produce and arrange some music for other people too - Mike Ladd, Choc, Crack Village, Syd matters...

Tahiti Boy has played / recorded with :
Spontane (dad records), Mike Ladd (Ninja Tune/K7!), Birdy Nam Nam (U.W.E.), Tony Allen (Fella's drummer), Antibalas (Ninja Tune/Rope a Dope), Beans (Antipop Consortium/Warp), Rob Sonic (Def Jux), Busdriver (Mush/Big Dada), TV on the Radio (Touch&Go/Interscope/4AD), Apollo Heights, High Priest (Airborne Audio/Antipop), Dr Israel (Roar), Crack Village (Make Some Noize Rec.), Choc, Syd matters (V2), Rose (Sources etc…), Herman Düne (Sources etc…), Cocosuma (3rd Side), Seraphim (Cannibal Ox), Sun Singleton (Blackalicious) etc...

This year was the time to let people hear his solo project, he figured…

Inspired by Brian Wilson as well as Sly Stone, the Zombies or Neil Young, he decided he was tired of working alone on this project, so he gathered a kind of "pop super group" during the summer of 2005, including members of Syd matters, Poney Poney, Tanger, Hopper etc...
As soon as they became brothers and sisters, they started rehearsing and recorded what could become and album sometimes soon, including special appearance of Choc and Tunde Adebimpe from TV On The Radio.

This album was recorded in a great studio nearby Paris called Microbe Studio. It is co-produced by Tahiti Boy himself and his sound ingeneer Angy Laperdrix, our very own George Martin.

They are now in the process of finishing this album to release it sometimes.

The band has had the opportunity to perform 8 shows in NYC in 2006 (Piano’s, Zebulon, The Kitchen, The Living Room, The Cake Shop…).
Since they came back, Tahiti Boy and the Palmtree family have played a lot, in and out Paris, for festivals (Mo’Fo’ 2006, Silhouette etc…) as well as club or bigger venues (Point Ephémère, Flèche d’Or, EMB Sannois, Batofar…) and shared the bill with many different bands, from Hushpuppies to Justice, Fugu, Mazarin, Syd matters, I Love UFO, Mike Ladd, Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio), Howe Gelb (Giant Sand), Poney Poney, Nelson, Busy P. (Pedro Winter), Ed Banger crew etc...

Now is just the beginning of the road, but hey, they're driving a Thunderbird......
