"First Cuts - Sand On The Run"

In Galway we find TAHITI'S DREAM who claim to "play music like our dicks depend on it". They write songs about the most important issues in the world like sex drugs and rock 'n' roll. "The Flies Of Night" could have been BRILLIANT but the vocals are lower than they need to be, but it still stamps its impatient feet all over your living room. "Everyone's Mistake" is fast-paced punk-pop, bound to get your feet moving. The early Beatles influence comes through on "Don't Think You Like Me Very Much". But it's discordant in a way that's probably not intended. Tahiti's Dream seem like they're mining a seem brimful of fresh thinking, but a better mix might do them more good next time. And I Hope There is a next time. - HOTPRESS, Ireland

Bio

Tahiti’s Dream are an ambitious four-piece rock ’n’ roll band from Galway. They’ve played over thirty gigs around the their native city as well as gigs around the country in places like The Temple Bar Music Center in Dublin and The Stables in Mulingar. They’re all in their late teens/early twenties and have been together for about two years however in the last six months they’ve been putting as much effort as possible into turning the band into more that just a fun past time.
Recently their efforts have started to pay off in more ways than one. In August they had their demo reviewed in HOTPRESS and it was a glowing reference describing their sound as “mining a seem brimful of fresh thinking” and one of their songs as “fast paced pop-punk bound to get your feet moving”.
Recently they were selected, by 2FM as the support for the Galway leg of the 2FM 2moro 2our playing as the opening act for The Immediate, Fairuza and Echogram. The night, by all accounts, was a big success with glowing reviews from all in attendance including Dan Hegerty who played their song “The Flies Of Night” on his 2FM show. Since then they have played many more gigs in Galway and plans for 2007 include releasing an EP and touring so things seem to be moving in the right direction so who knows where it will take them.
