Sherman Jermaine Dukett is "the highest ranking military official under the Royal family that has been sent on a divine quest to create the perfect garment for the body of Christ." ALL of my work expresses who I've been called to be. Books, magazines, songs, et cetera, my life life is Psalm 144:1.

Biography

I have experienced enough of almost everything to be proven to be someone that can be trusted in the Faith. I've allowed myself to be dubbed the Prodigal Son until I realized that my name was reason enough to be a minister of the Gospel; the death, burial, resurrection, and often forgotten & neglected, worship of Jesus, the Christ. Worship is to be done in Spirit & in Truth, but now-a-days, it's limited to Spirit while the Gospel leaves out the worship aspect that Jesus commanded us not to forget to mention when mentioning it. I live by Psalm 144:1, "He teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight." I'm a "Jack-of-all-trades" that has only "somewhat" mastered being himself.

Lyrics

The Battle

Written By: Sherman J. Dukett

Hook:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood/ but against powers, principalities, and spiritual wickedness in high places/ and don't forget the rulers of darkness of this world/ it's on now, it's on now, ha-rah

Verse 1:
The devil's a cunning opponent,/ and he was on you the moment you were conceived/ because he knew that you were destined to be/ great in Christ, the L-O-R-D/ in Whom, you have your being/ in Whom, there's no beginning/ in whom there is no end./ In lies, He is a friend./ In Him, you can depend./ A love note He will send./ A helping hand He will lend./ He died for all our sins,/ and then, He rose again/ so we can live with Him/ for a time that has no end./ We are the next of kin,/ so just receive your blessings/ and keep keep on praisin'/ to keep the devil guessin'./ Tell 'em it's only test/ and you're sided with the best./ Never...settle for less/ even while in your mess./ He will give you a sweet rest/ if you would just confess/ and if you would just believe that Christ/ He is the King/ that died for you and me./ You'll put on your helmet of salvation/ and be bolted up/ just like me./ Come on let's go...

Hook:

Verse 2:
The breastplate of righteousness/ that's what's next./ It's designed to cover up your chest/ just like a bulletproof vest./ It really covers up your spirit with God's righteousness./ You won't look like a superhero,/ but you'll be Blade/ better than Snipes Ly Wes./ And if you watch where you walk/ and how you talk,/ you won't be looking for those holes/ just like Marshall Faulk./ When the devil makes his allegations,/ tell him he's a liar/ and say, "Get thee behind me 'cause I've got the Gospel of Peace shod upon my feet!"/ Producing only what you read in the B-I-B-L-E,/ you'll have your reproductive system girted up with the Truth./ For without faith,/ it's impossible to even please You,/ so grab your shield of faith/ to quench the fiery darts of doubt the devil's shootin' your way./ The next one's my baby./ I use it everyday./ It's better than an AK./ It helps out...with the shield of faith./ It's my stainless steel,/ soaked in blood/ two-edged sword of the Spirit,/ which is the Word of the Lord/ to help you fend off the lies/ and save lives./ Do you realize/ that the higher you are/ the more demons there are/ assigned to keep you from reaching the prize/ of the high calling of God?/ That's why you're always to pray/ to break the stronghold of the enemy./

Hook:

Bridge:
So the next time that you are sittiing at work/ and your boss starts acting like a complete jerk,/ don't go buzzurk./ Just put your spiritual weapons to work/ because if you recall the very first verse,/ that's how the devil operates/ to get you the point of hate/ or resentment, so you go through your day with a dent./ Take my advise and do as Christ/ and pray the prayer of forgiveness over your enemies' life.

Verse 3:
It's not enough to have you under my feet./ I'ma need you bruising my heel./ I'ma maul you like a bull massive,/ and only God can make me heel./ Peace be still,/ or you'll just make it worse./ Your future's already cursed,/ and it dates back to when you were like lightning falling straight to the earth./ FLASH.../is the name that I am dubbing you./ Can you feel me? I'm rubbing you/ in a bad kind of way./ I can tell. You don't like the way I'm rubbing you,/ but what if I were mugging you?/ Better yet, if I were clubbing you?/ There's really no thug in you/ not even with the other third with you./ Go...

Hook:

Special:
Twinkle, twinkle/ fallen star./ Look how small you really are./ Can't wait to see the look on your face/ when Jesus Christ yells, "Charge!"

What If?

Written By: Sherman J. Dukett

Hook:
What if the Gospel rap industry had some of the hardest artist/ that were harder than the hardest artists/ in the secular industry/ but spoke of biblical teaching and living,/ would you tune in to their frequency?

Verse 1:
We live in a time, man, when you want the lust of another man./ While we're at war with the Taliban for what they did to the towers, man./ We're at war with the government to show our love for the Son of man./ You can go to jail, now, for not having a closet religion./ You swear I'm judging you when I'm only correcting you./ You reiterate that He's judging me in the same manner I'm judging you/ when I'm only correcting you./ But just in case, where are my P's and Q's?/ Do you understand?/ Dawg, am I getting through to you?

Hook:

Verse 2:
Maybe you need some instructions/ on what it means to be productive/
'cause there's consequences and repercussions/ that'll end in your destruction./ What's with the fussin'?/ You mad 'cause I be bustin'/ and doin' these tracks some Justice/ like Janet Jackson? Sorry 'bout Pac's passin',/ but he laid the foundation for what is, now, my passion./ He spoke of problems and prayed for some action./ Too bad we couldn't meet,/ he would've appreciated my ministry;/ giving sight to the blind/ and strength to the feeble knees,/ but I'm a murder./ And, yes, I admit it/ because I'll assinate your pride/ leave two tears in a bucket for when you cry./ Call me a "Trouble maker" but not a "Faker."/ You can do the hokie-pokie,/ but only God can turn your life around./ Crucified with Senor Jesus de Cristos./ I'm slicker than most/ like I've been soaked in some Crisco./ No need to pay me/ like it's the end of the fiscal./ I'll leave you froze...(ahh)/ like I'm a pistol.

With Your Permission

Written By: Sherman J. Dukett

Hook:
What do I do/ when I don't know what to do?/ What do I say/ when I don't know what to say?/ Don't think I'm distant/ when I don't respond to your persistance./ I've got eternity to get it right/ with your permission./ How do I give/ when I don't know what to give?/ You're my rib within my crib/ where I eat, sleep, and live./ Don't think I'm distant when I don't respond to your persistance./ I've got eternity to get it right/ with your permission.

Verse 1:
3 years ago, we were joined at our soul./ A perfect marriage and a happy home was our goal./ I've always had a desire to play the husband role./ It's the toughest role. The reason so many men fold./ I'm to love you like Christ loves His fold, but/ that's harder to do than trying to crack the Matrix code./ I know sometimes it may seem like I'm really cold./ Never did I ever want to take you down that lonely road.

Hook:

Spoken:
I'm sorry for ever trying to buy your love like I was Kobe,/ and lo siento para puttin' my business before you and spending so much money./ I know this may not mean much to you, but I'm admittin' that clueless like a newborn child./ But with your permission, I promise to get it right some way somehow. This is my vow...

Verse 2:
From this day forward,/ I promise to love you/ and treat you/ the way I should have done it/ from the monent I said,/ "I do...(I do)/ take you...(take you)/ to be my only one/ 'til the coming of the Son."/ I love you/ more than you could ever know./ I need you/ more than I could ever show./ I promise/ to get it right this time for sho'.

I Wouldn't Change A Thing

Written By: Sherman J. Dukett, Brandon Resnover, Philip Dukett

Verse 1:
I would not change a thing/ in my life./ You gave me a wife and child/ in my life./ When I stand up and fall down,/ you gave me a crown/ and turned me around/ now that I realize/ that I am found./ Then, You told me/ I'm a king/ in my home and I'm not alone/ when I was wrong./ I love this song.

Hook:
It may have taken some time for us to realize/ that we were "Destined 2 B."/ We're both fathers, now, and we have to stand up to our reponsibilities/ putting away our childish ways and raise our daughters as queens./ This is our version of Sherm-Diesel's "I Wouldn't Change A Thing."

Verse 2:
From day one,/ I thought my life was gonna be some fun./ Then, I looked outside, and/ it blew my mind./ I opened the door to my house, and they called me./ They said, "You're ugly. Get away."/ Congradulations, now, you're 21./ Baby, you made it,/ but remember I'm still becoming a man./ So, people don't rush me...(rush me)/ I'ma take it slowly...(slowly)/ as He holds me/ keeps me going./ He really loves me./ Just for that.../I really wouldn't change a thang.

Vamp:
Keep'a me safe in Your garden.../
I would not change a thing./
...where there's no perversion...
I would not change a thing./
Oohh ooh ooh

Discography

I have "The Battle" which is a lesson on spiritual warfare along with its armor, "What If" in which the question is posed, "What if the Gospel rap industry has some of the hardest artists that were harder than the hardest artists in the secular industry and spoke of biblical living and teaching, would you tune in to their frequency?!" "With Your Permission" puts men in a vulnerable position where we ask, "What do I do when I don't know what to do? What do I say when I don't know what to say? Don't think I'm distant when I don't respond to your persistance. I've got eternity to get it right with your permission. How do I give when I don't know what to give? You're my rib within my crib where I eat, sleep, and live. Don't think I'm distant when I don't respond to your persistance. I've got eternity to get it right with your permission." "Unstable Situations" allows us to be completely honest and confident when it comes to change in our lives. Likened to riding a motorcycle with a 2nd passenger, we ask people to simply bear with us as we go through this changing process, or we'll "spill in the intersection" of life. It was taken from a thought from T. D. Jakes "Fight from the Family" series.

Set List

I don't have a set list. I've been helping others for the last 7-8 years develope their ministries. I was content with being the "and more artist" as opposed to being the featured artist. I've never really released an album though I've been on an album sold here and in Japan. I have done "The Battle" and a song I have entitled "Twinkle, Twinkle" in concerts where I was actually supposed to be a backup singer or hype man.
