Taiwu Children's Ancient Ballads Troupe
Taiwu Children's Ancient Ballads Troupe is from the indigenous Paiwan tribe in the Taiwu village of southern Taiwan. Many of the Paiwan ballads have been passed down from generation to generation orally as the tribe doesn't have written words. The Paiwan tribe's ancient tales, rituals, social structure, and cultural lifestyle have all been illustrated in the songs. When this group performed on the Japanese NHK network television program "Amazing Voice", the Taiwu Children's Ancient Ballads Troupe was voted as one of the world's top five performance groups by the audience. "Picture their land as I smell the fragrance of the earth and refresh by the breeze blowing through the valley through these children's voices," acclaimed the music critic in Europe as Taiwu Children's Ancient Ballads Troupe toured in Luxembourg, Belgium , France and Germany in 2009.
