Takcalb is a hip hop artist who was born and raised on the southeast side of Washington, D.C. He currently resides in Fort Worth, TX. His love for music began to flourish as a child after listening to vinyl recording of the Chimpmunks. Takcalb enjoys all types of music which could be seen as a youth with his involvement with various types of band/groups. He has been the bass player for GO-GO, Heavy Metal, Alternative Rock and Hip Hop bands. He was also a DJ for EDM going by the name of Dubstep. In 2007 his DJ name was Blackcat which was later changed to Takcalb after his co-foundation of the DJ organization Dub Commission. Takcalb is Blackcat spelled backwards.black
Some other notable shared performance Takcalb is proud of, were at the Green Elephant club in Dallas with G Mo Skee, Jeff Turner, Big Boys, Johnny Richter (Kotton Mouth Kings) and Liquid Assassin. He also had the opportunity to share the stage with Dee Jay Shaolin at the Lizard Lounge also in Dallas, for Shaolin’s birthday party.
In 2013 he was signed to the record label R2 Music Enterprise LLC which is housed in Texas. RonnieBlaze the owner and CEO of R2 blessed Takcalb to recorded at the studio and after a few solo gigs, he was offered the opportunity to share the stage with Ra the Rugged Man, Potluck, Whitney Peyton, Black P, Claas, RonnieBlaze and some great local artists.
In November of 2014 RonnieBlaze and Takcalb released a mix tap called Five Straw Draws (Young Nigga Shit) which includes five (5) classic beats from Busta Rhymes. March 20, 2015 performed at a venue in Austin, TX for SXSWblack 2 (South by Southwest) provided by Coast2Coast. He is currently working on a new EP Turnup Style which include his East Coast family from Washington, D.C.,Rosedale Entertainment and Casketboy music in 2015.

Takcalb: Next up was R2’s very own Takcalb (BLACKAT) who as far as I’m concerned needs no introduction in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Takcalb has been rocking stages for years now he always kills it with his material and very greatful to his fans. On this particular night he didn’t let us down. Bio
Born at Greater Southeast Hospital in Southeast, Washington, DC. I grew up in the whole DMV area, which includes DC, MD & VA. My neighborhood is Oxon Hill/Ft. Washington, MD. The name of the neighborhood is called Rosedale(AppleGrove) area. I grew up listening to Washington DC's, own (chocolate city)GOGO music, created by the late CHUCK BROWN (GODFATHER OF GOGO MUSIC) and I also played bass guitar in a different GoGo band for a bit. Just like any black neighborhood there was always things to get into but I always kept to my music. As time went on I ventured out of my comfort zone to try other genres as a bass guitar player. Later, I got into Djing hip hop music for a while. While time passed, I moved to Texas and began another musical journey. While in Texas, creation of a Dubstep Dj crew in Ft. Worth, TX was born from Dragonman, Soy Capaz, Adan Lee and my dj name (Blackat) called Dub Commission. During a moment in time I decided to get involved with a project which led me to be named TAKCALB. After being involved with RonnieBlaze/CEO of R2 Music Enterprise LLC, I was given the opportunity to record Takcalb (self titled EP), 5 Straw Draw Young Nigga Shit (EP) at his studio. RonnieBlaze also gave me the opportunity to open up for artist by the names of STEVIE STONE ( Strange Music), RA THE RUGGED MAN, POTLUCK, JOHNNY RITCHER (KOTTON MOUTH KINGS), CLAAS, JEFF TURNER, G MO SKEE, WHITNEY PEYTON and many others. Now, working on this new project for 2 years with DeeJay Shaolin, producing 4 of the songs and SHAWN @sessionworks producing 3 of the other songs, it has hit its target with a party type feel EP. The featured artists on this project are Scooby Luchini, S.O.S, Tripsz, Amie Campbell, Miss Kisa and RONNIEBLAZE!
