"Download Two New Rocked-Out “Eleanor Rigby”s"

As you’re busy mounting social media campaigns and handing out fliers to support your candidates in today’s Moptop Madness poll, take a breather with two Beatles covers you don’t have to choose between! By sheer coincidence, we’ve just received two rocking covers of “Eleanor Rigby.” Because nothing says “good times” like picking up rice at a church where a wedding has been.

London trio Tree Pit do a piano-rock version, adding some hefty drums behind the chords. Then, hard-rocking cover band Take Cover pushes it even further (disclaimer: featuring Cover Me’s own Eric Garneau on bass) with some metal guitar. Download both below, and watch Tree Pit record theirs in the studio while you’re at it. - Cover Me

Bio

Take Cover is a four-piece rock cover band from the Chicagoland area. Our setlist spans the history of rock & roll -- from Elvis to the Beatles to Michael Jackson up through current hits like Kings of Leon, we play it all! We're full of energy and our stage presence is pretty unique because, well, we're just naturally funny folks. Once you've seen our version of "Lightning Crashes," you'll never think of that song the same way again.

Collectively Take Cover has been playing together since 2008 and has the chops and chemistry to entertain any crowd. Individual members have been active in music for decades. As a group, we've played venues like Uncle Fatty's, Underground Lounge, Total Sports of Naperville, Amp Rock Lounge, JJ Kelley's, Bobby McGee's, 115 Bourbon Street, and Tequila Roadhouse. Individually we've graced such venues as America's Roadhouse (Aurora, IL), the Double Door (Chicago, IL), the Canopy Club (Champaign, IL), the Miramar Theater (Milwaukee, WI), the Note (Chicago, IL), O'Malley's (Alsip, IL), and much more.

About the band:

Dwight Haesler - considers himself the biggest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan in the world. He sang lead vocals in the suburban Chicago punk band Statements Lost from 2004-2010.

Dan Gonya - does tremendous impressions of Christopher Walken, Arnold Schwarzenneger, and Jimmy Page guitar solos. He played lead guitar in the suburban Chicago punk band Statements Lost from 2004-2010.

Mike Gonya - is a teacher and enjoys D&D, but don't tell anyone. He played drums in the suburban Chicago punk band Statements Lost from 2004-2010.
