"Take With Audio?"

“We all have our own individual tastes but a few that we all share are The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Incubus, Tool, The Los Lonely Boys, Weezer, Them Crooked Vultures, Sublime and the Dave Matthews Band. When did you guys start your tour and what have been some highlights so far? We started October 7th, our first show was in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, we went as far west as Kamloops, British Columbia and then back to Brandon, Manitoba. When we were heading into the mountains, our GPS took us on a shortcut over a mountain road that wasn’t paved and had turned to ice. The incline grew so much that Nathan was driving and he couldn’t go anymore. The wheels started to spin and we started to slide backwards, there was a cliff on one side and a sheer decline on the other. Luckily, we got the van turned around with the help of two local farmers and tobogganed back down the hill.”

"Review"

A close friend and fellow musician, Kori Kameda says this:

ok so hears my nuttshell review of these boys,

i used to play with these guys a couple years ago for the most part it was good times but not really my thing after i left brandon i had not seen or heard much for awhile. after running around a lot this summer i decided to make one last trip to brandon to work on some writing as well as doing some partying/playing with the boys we all know eachother very well. after getting a chance to hear them play again it was really great their confidence as a whole was evident and they had all tighten'd up a lot more. the biggest difference i noticed was trevors singing hes come so far in 4 years it was a refreshing thing to see him in full swing. kevin has also grown into a very strong advantage to this bands funky fun rockin style, quips and qoutes that show his inspireing maturity and progression as not only a bass player but an overall fully mobilized musician, you can see and hear these quips and qoutes in any of his live performences im sure, passion is evident with kev. one might say kevident. anyone who knows bernie knows what it feels like to be rocked ive known bernie for a very long time and like a good friend of mine has written about him, he is the backbone of any group, he is their spine their push and their need for intensity. nathan, well what can yah say the fella is a rocker at heart and a very handy musician to have anywhere watching and hearing him rip it up can be summed up in the old saying
"no rules"

hearing the boys grow was really nice and i hope to see them take their ambitions to a much more fast paced area. its no problem for them to rock out it would just be nice to see them rock on and on and on and so on. not only are these guys great musicians they are even greater people and you will find that their sinceritys are the blood of what makes them a great rock band. dont get too close. and dance while you can these guys defy the rules of oxygen.

four stars - one for each of em' - Kori Kameda

Bio

Take With Audio are a Canadian grown progressive retro rock band formed in Brandon Manitoba in 2006. The 5-piece band has nourished the local music scene with their unique energy and distinctive sound for years. The band consists of Trevor Crook (vocals), Nathan Crook (lead guitar), Kori Kameda (rhythm guitar), Kevin Blair (bass), and Bernie Wolski (drums). Together the band has made it from Manitoba to BC and back twice with only a few bumps on the way such as breaking down in a small town in Alberta or sliding down an icy road in the mountains in their old 70s van. After making it to Toronto and back all in one piece, Take With Audio made the enthusiastic decision to turn their life around and move to Ontario where they are currently living in the GTA to further develop their musicianship and songwriting.

Take With Audio is currently working on a new album to be released this summer of 2013. “It’s a full length album; an album to portray our genre of music, progressive retro rock” (Trevor Crook). The new album is to be produced and engineered by Cory Revesz. After the album is released in Mississauga they will be showcasing the album around the GTA and planning a tour across Canada. Until then, Take With Audio is performing at festivals including Manitoba’s Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa as well as Ontario’s NXNE.

Take With Audio came about in Brandon Manitoba approximately 6 years ago. “We are all from small towns, and I don’t mean Ontario small… I mean Manitoba small with 2500 people” (Nathan Crook). It all started when 4 of the members were coincidentally looking for a band when the opportunity appeared to play at the ‘Band Jam for Cancer’. Kevin who never played bass picked it up and knew right away it was meant to be. Trevor who was most comfortable on drums became the front man where he clearly found his place. Nathan continued on guitar and Bernie stayed with his drums. The 4 of them performed and knew right away that their organic sound was going to be around for a long time. Kori Kameda, a singer/songwriter from Ontario, is a recent addition to the band and has added a new dynamic for Take With Audio.
