Talein

Talein is an award-winning artist known for her angelic voice and explosive stage presence. She recently won Youth Gospel Choice Awards Best Female Artist for 2008 and is setting the standard for music ministry. It was evident at a young age that she was going to be a woman of purpose and destiny. Talein, born Kia Talein Anderson is a multi-talented woman on a mission to share her gifts and talents with the world. She is an entrepreneur, writer, songwriter, model, actress, gospel-recording artist, life coach, wife and mother.

Talein’s latest endeavor is her non-profit ministry Divine LifeStyle. As an eloquent speaker and gifted writer for many years her talents prove again to inspire others to live a lifestyle that is pure, honest, encouraging and uplifting. Talein host her show Divine LifeStyle Show with Talein, which airs live every Monday Night at 9pm EST on her website www.Talein.com. Her heart for young women did not stop when she was reigning as Miss Black Maryland in 1992. Talein is conducting her workshops Divine LifeStyle Enrichment for young ladies ages 8-18. Extremely passionate about mentoring young women, Talein discusses self-esteem, life choices, and is an advocator for Abstinence and HIV/AID’s education. Her song Abstinence is used as a tool to reach people with the message through song. She continues to speak out on pre-marital sex, drugs, violence, and alternative lifestyles in the Christian community and the world.

Always a trendsetter and natural born leader Talein is the founder of Lady Virtuous and online scholarship pageant for women of faith. “This pageant will help aid women who desire to obtain a scholarship to attain their Divinity Degree or continue their education in the field of Theological Studies. I want to give back and give the opportunity I had with the Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant.” She is also the State Director for the Miss Black Georgia USA Scholarship Pageant. These organizations help young women to succeed and that is my passion for all women to become successful and achieve their dreams.
After her crowing as First Runner-up Miss Black USA, Talein was selected to be the lead female vocalist for Atlantic Starr and recorded the CD “Time” on Arista Records. Talein’s passion for music has been heard through out the US and abroad. She was featured as an up and coming artist on Candi Staton’s show “Say Yes” on Trinity Broadcasting Network and has ministered on many platforms with the whose who in ministry.

In 2007, Talein released her latest musical masterpiece entitled “Don’t Turn Your Back On God”. This eclectic mixture of contemporary gospel songs mixed with hip-hop, and R&B undertones just scratch the surface of Talein’s Debut CD. The project is written by Talein and her mom La-Tina Smith and Produced by her husband Jamar DeJan. Don’t underestimate Talein’s versatility can bring you back to your roots with a hymn or take you to the throne room with praise and worship. She is a well-rounded artist. Talein’s dreams of helping others in music ministry can now be realized through Angelic Vibe Music, Inc., which she shares the dream with her husband and mother La-Tina Smith as they continue to write and produce for other artist. Jamar and Talein are the Worship & Arts Ministers and travel to churches all over the country to minister the word of God through song. They are currently working on Talein’s Sophomore CD “DREAM.
