"Evening of Acoustic Music to be Featured at Cornerstone Coffeehouse"

Summerlin's songs are about protest, possibility, the world as it could be, life as it is, and what happens when people hold hands. - New Jersey Independent Press

"Talley Summerlin Does It Well"

I'm a big fan of Peter Gabriel-era Genesis, so I'm always happy when I hear somebody building on their stylistic achievements. I don't know if he's aware of it, but Talley Summerlin does it well (with 'Queen's Drone'). - Quiet Rebel Music Blog

In January, 2011, Talley Summerlin released his first solo material, a digital single for his song “Alright With You.”

In July, 2012, he released a 3-song EP called Shake the Gates ("Shake the Gates," "Queen's Drone," "Wow").

While lead singer and lyricist of BE, Talley recorded six critically-acclaimed DIY albums of modern rock music from 1989 to 2002.

Bio

Talley writes songs about protest and possibility. He is a choir boy gone rogue. He sounds a little like these people: Crowded House/Neil Finn, Peter Gabriel, The Swell Season/Glen Hansard, and Michael Penn. File him under singer/songwriter/adult alternative.

His new 3-song Shake the Gates EP is his first solo collection since disbanding his group BE in 2002. To record and produce the EP he collaborated with veterans who have worked with Grammy-winning artists Seal, Sheryl Crow and Shawn Colvin. These songs started with Talley on the acoustic guitar and slowly grew from there.

He was once lead singer and lyricist of a band called BE. They recorded six critically-acclaimed DIY albums of modern rock music from 1989 to 2002. The band’s swansong, Thistupidream, was one of the best reviewed self-produced, independent albums of 2001.

Talley recently moved from Austin, Texas, to the NJ/NY area.
