Biography

a band now calling the gold coast home, started when singer songwriter zachary miller showed guitarist darren waters a few demos he'd written on his mac garage band app.
being a two piece and playing there first show at a open mic night on the central coast town lake munmorah the boys got there first taste of what they knew would one day be a full band..

the boys recruited some close friends as a backline and started to get some shows around the central coast, newcastle and sydney at whatever venues would host them.

having realised a change was in need to get things moving the boys came north so that ryan, zachs brother and longtime drummer could join and with this change came the addition of ross dickie
former bassist of sydney band blue bottle kiss to round out the sound and concentrate on delivering there live show.

since solidifying the group they've played along side brisbane bands like HUNZ and skinny jean and supported artist from other areas like crow, jamie hutchings, sarah humphreys and ex hungry ghosts guitarist j.p shillo.

Discography

the band recorded a 4 track demo in 2008 which was self titled.

and now have brought out a seven track e.p "the young mind, a juvenile jail"

The Young Mind, A Juvenile Jail is the sound of chemistry taking place, chemistry of two minds developing in simpatico. Tall Tails formed when singer and songwriter Zach Miller met guitarist Darren Waters and casually showed him a handful of backlogged songs he’d been crafted in the privacy of his flat. Water’s immediately began to flesh out and bring texture to the intricate and literate world Miller had been creating. Studying the youthful mind the way Arcade Fire recently dissected the Suburbs, The Young Mind, A Juvenile Jail takes a unique look into the youthful Australian mindset and it’s many dark crevices.

two of the songs off the e.p "juvenile jail" and "i adhere" are both getting airtime on FBI radio sydney and five of the tracks off it have been played on triple j's HACK.
