Bio

Tama Neilene is a young artist from Edmonton. She was born in Calgary in May 1995 and attended Calgary Arts Academy. In 2011 she moved to Edmonton and is now attending Victoria School of the Arts. She has written over 40 original songs with more waiting to be created. Her style is somewhere between folk - jazz - blues and grunge. In other words her “Genre” cannot be defined. When Tama was very little she would stand up in restaurants and sing songs she had heard on the radio. Her love for the arts kept growing, she joined the Calgary Girls Choir and Youth Singers of Calgary. Eventually she picked up a guitar and that’s when her love for music exploded into a passion. She is a self-taught guitarist; the first song she learned on her guitar was one that she had written.
Not only does Tama have a passion for music she also has a strong passion for the theatre, she has been in a few productions at Vertigo Theatre in Calgary, such as Frankenstein where she played the role of Elizabeth, Evita and Study Hall Fever.
Shortly after moving to Edmonton Tama joined U22. This has given her more opportunities to perform around the city, in coffee shops, busk- ing events and festivals. Some of the venues she has performed at are: Big Valley Jamboree, Hawrelak Park, Edmonton, AB (For the Peace in the Park Festival), Cha Island Tea, Whyte Ave (The Art Walk Festival), Café Haven in Sherwood Park, AB, Mandolin Books Edmonton, AB, St. Albert (Canada Day Celebration) and Many more.
She is continuing to grwo under the mentorship of Rhea March of March Music Inc and ID VIP Team
