Bio

Tamara Little Started out singing and playing the five string Banjo with a bluegrass band in California in the early 80's. Time, miles, and notes marched on, but she has now ended up 27 years later right where she started from, in California. Having given up the banjo some time ago, she now sings, writes and plays the Tenor guitar. Growing up in the 60's and 70's, Tamara admired the harmony of the Beatles and Crosby, Stills and Nash; and the singing of Joni Mitchell, Linda Rondstadt and Simon and Garfunkel. When she started to play bluegrass and old time music however, she realized that much of what she liked about these artists was rooted in older music by artists such as the Carter Family and the Stanley Brothers. More recent artists versed in classic country who carry these roots forward, such as Emmy Lou Harris, also influence her writing and performing. This diverse background is readily displayed in Tamara's songs, which span multiple genre's, from acoustic rock to folk, to old time and bluegrass. Tamara began to seriously consider the pen an instrument of musical expression only recently. She has written the majority of her material in the last 3 years, and in 2007 recorded an album of her original songs "Late to the Party" released in mid September and now available on Digstation and CD Baby. Tamara is based in the Central Valley of California and regularly roams the west coast as far north as British Columbia.
