"ATX Spotlight: Tamarron Release Dadrock"

Okay, don’t let that title mislead you, as Dadrock is the name of the new EP just released by local Austin band, Tamarron, who we’ve raved about before. And no, it doesn’t sound like dad-rock at all; it only furthers their exploration into the realms of psychedelia. Your ears should immediately gravitate towards the atmospheric wash, pushed on by a grinding organ that lurks in the background of standout track, “Cinnamon Skin, which I’ve got below. You can grab your own copy of the band’s EP right HERE, for the NYOP…I suggest a nice donation. - Austin Town Hall

"I Saw The Light with Tamarron - An Interview"

"What's going on Saturday?"

Local psych rock band Prince Rupert's Drops headline this show but Austin's Tamarron are worth checking out too. Their album dadrock is loaded with hazy guitar pop that your father may or may not like. Stream it below. - Brooklyn Vegan

"RVA Shows You Must See This Week 7/1-7/7"

Hailing from Austin Texas, Tamarron have a sun-baked desert psychedelic sound going on, which is relatively predictable considering their hometown. They'll be coming through on tour and playing a set that shows off their self-proclaimed "dad rock" inclinations. They're attempting to reclaim this pejorative term--their most recent EP, which came out only a couple of weeks ago, is even called Dadrock, and it features a cover of lite-rock radio staple "I Saw The Light" by Todd Rundgren--as well as some pretty heavy use of phaser pedals, because after all, they are still very psychedelic. Rounding out the bill is Skirts, a synth-based disco project headed up by Ken Hicks and sometimes featuring vocals from Toxic Moxie's Sera Stavroula, among others. They'll be laying down some cool 70s-Italian-horror-soundtrack sounds to give this show some proper vibes. - RVA Mag
