Playne Jayne (Tami Klumpyan and Diane Gudex)

BandCountryFolk

We are a writing duo that came together after years of sharing the same dream, creating music and lyrics that touch peoples lives. Events in our lives have pushed us out of the dream stage, into the reality stage. Our lyrics are felt by people of all ages, ranging from serious to fun to sassy.

Biography

Diane and Tami came together in the last year to create the writing team "Playne Jayne". Tami currently writes most of the lyrics and melodies and Diane brings the songs alive with her creative harmonies (a song within a song) and ideas. They are launching their song writing career with a little bit of everything. They both feel they are being guided spiritually down this path with their music and are looking forward to creating more songs in the future. The lyrics range from songs about angels to songs about relationships (good and bad) to songs about the hereafter. Most are based on life experiences with a few embellishments in parts (they won't tell which parts!). Tami and Diane believe their music is different and speaks directly to all types of listeners.
Diane has been involved with music since she was a child. She learned the piano/organ at an early age, being strongly influenced by her mother who was the choir director in their local church. After her mother retired, Diane took her place as choir director for many years. Diane can sing a wide range of music. The skys the limit with her vocal range.
Tami has been involved with music since grade school, starting with alto sax and switching over to acoutic guitar shortly after graduating. Her biggest influences in music were John Denver, Elton John, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny cash. Tami's alto voice brings credibility to many of her songs, as it brings out the true feelings of her lyrics. Her spirituality has pushed her into taking a new path in life, sharing her music, in the hopes that her lyrics will help others. Although the music business is quite new to them, they are ready for the challenge.

Lyrics

Dear Angels

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan

Chorus:
Dear Angels
It's been a tough day
But I'm okay, with you by my side
ohhh And I don't know
What the future holds
But I've been told it'll be alright
Ohhh and dear Angels

Verse 1:

In the first two years that we were farming,
A drought killed half our crop, but we percevered.
Well we didn't make much, but it was just enough,
To keep us going, for another year,
Ohhh and dear Angels.

Verse 2:

In the next year, we dealt with flooded fields,
And in the following year, we had no rain.
Ohhh but still the people came while the Angels sang
Do not worry cause all is well
Ohhhh and dear Angels

Chorus:

Dear Angels
It's been a tough day
But I'm okay with you by my side.
Ohhh And I don't know,
what the future holds.
But I've been told it'll be alright.
Ohhh and dear Angels

Instrumental...

Verse 3:

And then the fifth year came,
The crops looked wonderful,
The fields looked beautiful,
We'd surely make it now.
But then all at once,
It swept through our fields,
We lost everything,
except our FAITH!

Chorus:

Ohhh and dear Angels
It's been a tough day,
But I'm okay with you by my side.
Ohhh and I don't know,
What the future holds,
But I've been told it'll be alright.
Ohhh and dear Angels
Dear Angels
Dear Angels

I Still Believe In Signs

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan

Verse 1:

I can't believe the way
Time has traveled since that day
It's been ten years since you've been gone
but it seems like only yesterday.

I felt your presence in my room
When I crawled in bed last night
It was definitely your perfume
That surrounded me
you held me tight.

Chorus:

And I still believe in signs
They're around me all the time
Whether it's a song on the radio
or a beautiful bird in flight
Yes I still believe in signs

Verse 2:

I wonder what the other side
Is like there everyday
And I wish that you could talk to me
That I could hear you say

Hey honey what are ya planting
in your garden out in back
All I can tell you Mom
is about the rose growing there that I didn't plant

Chorus:

And I still believe in signs
They're around me all the time
whether it's a song on the radio
Or a beautiful bird in flight
Yes I still believe in signs

Verse 3:

Hey Mom I got the butterfly
You sent to me last spring
And I saw the lights you flickered
When I was going through that thing

But what really makes me miss you most
Are the feathers you leave me
Yes I know they're from the Angels
The ones who carried you away from me

Chorus:

And I still believe in signs
They're around me all the time
Whether it's a song on the radio
Or a beautiful bird in flight
Yes I still believe in signs

Yes I still believe
Still believe
Yes I still believe in signs.

Spend Your Life With Me

Written By: Tamara R. Klumpyan

Verse 1

I’m asking you to be there

when my whole life falls apart

It seems I need you more each day

Right from the very start

The times I get to see you

Just don’t seem enough

So honey won’t you come and spend your life with me

Chorus

Spend your life with me

I want to wake up with you each morning

Spend your life with me

I want to sleep with you each night

No more feeling lonely

I’ll never be alone

Mmmmmmm

Verse 2

You say you want your freedom

You’re not ready to settle down

But you know that I’m not asking you

To turn your world around

I just want you beside me

Through all the good and bad

All I’m really asking is spend your life with me

Repeat Chorus

Verse 3

I’m asking cause I love you

And I know I always will

Everyday you tell me that your love will last until

The time I ever hurt you

Which will never come

Cause I love you more than ever

Forever

Repeat Chorus

Are You Still There

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan

Verse 1

Met you in a bar
Had nothing else to do
You were singing for me there
Nearly broke my heart in two

I was already taken
Couldn’t make up my mind what to do
About you

So I asked you over to my place
We made love till the morning light
All day and night

Chorus

And I don’t know
And I don’t care
I’ll follow you
Anywhere
I’ll be there

Verse 2

You say that you love me
Do you even know the meaning
You are gone all the time
Never want to be around me

What did I do to stop you
From loving me the way that you use to
You use to

You know that I’d give you the world
If that’s the way you want it to be
Then why can’t you see

Chorus

And I don’t know
And I don’t care
I’ll follow you
Anywhere
I’ll be there

Verse 3

Now the time has come
For me to say goodbye
I know that it’s been said before
But this time I’m not lying

The more that I am with you
I realize the way you really are
Oh it’s gone too far

So this time turn your back to me
And try to walk away while we’re still friends
Oh this is the end

2nd Chorus (new)

I can picture your face
In my mind it is so clear
Was it love that we were sharing
Had we forgotten how to care

Are you still there
Ohhhh still there
Are you still there

Just Once

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan/Diane Gudex

Verse 1

I'm sittin' by the river just thinking 'bout me and you,
Watching the sun dancing on the water.
You once had a sparkle like that in your eyes too,
like a father has for his daughter.

Verse 2

It's hard to say what happened that day,
I'd been longing for attention.
It didn't mean enough to me anyway.
An innocent dance turned summer attraction,
summer attraction.

Chorus

Just once can you think about me?
why can't you see, what it's doing to me?
You know, it's not about you,
and what you're going through,
so what you wanna do?
Please think about me.

Verse 3

We've got too many years invested in our love,
do you really want to throw it all away?
We've gone through harder times, when you were gone away,
Ain't it worth another shot,
Yeah, another shot.

Verse 4

I'll take the blame for cheating on you,
I know you don't deserve to feel this.
Can you admit, that it's your fault too.
Oh will it end with that last kiss?
with that last kiss?

Chorus twice

Just once can you think about me?
why can't you see, what it's doing to me?
You know, it's not about you,
and what you're going through,
so what you wanna do?
Please think about me.
Just think about me.
Yeah think about me.
Oh think about me.
It's all about me, It's all about me...

You Better Think Again

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan

VERSE 1

They said the other day
that spring was on its way
It’s been a long cold
Drawn out winter

Can’t wait to get outside,
get outside and play
And forget
That you were with her

Chorus

I hope that she was worth it
Cause I can’t remember when
You said you loved me
You sure didn’t love me then

It came so easy for you
To break my heart again
If you think I’m forgiving you
Well you better think again

You’re at a dead end

VERSE 2

Sure you said you don’t want to go,
but I hate to tell you you’ve got no choice
What we had long ago
Is now forgotten

You took the easy road,
When times weren’t going well
if I would have done the same
Would you forgive me

yeah right (spoken)

Chorus

I hope that she was worth it
Cause I can’t remember when
You said you loved me
You sure didn’t love me then

It came so easy for you
To break my heart again
If you think I’m forgiving you
Well you better think again

You’re at a dead end

VERSE 3

I know that people forgive
But that’s not me at all
And you should know
I’m not that easy

All I’m gonna say is
So long, see ya, bye
Guess you underestimated me
By a mile

Chorus

I hope that she was worth it
Cause I can’t remember when
You said you loved me
You sure didn’t love me then

It came so easy for you
To break my heart again
If you think I’m forgiving you
well you better think again

you’re at a dead end

Ghost On The Hill

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan

Verse 1

I can hear them drumming

To a ceremony all their own

Through the mist at dawn

You would never know that they’re gone

It’s been many years

Since they lived on the hill in peace

Chased away by progress

Their existence all but ceased

Chorus

Hey hey ee Yah e yah

Hey e hey ee yah

Hey hey ee yah e yah

Hey e hey ee yah yah e yah

Verse 2

When I was a child

I would sit on their alter stone

Not knowing what it was at the time

Not knowing it was their home

It’d be many years later

Before the truth would come to light

We would find many petroforms

A symbol of their life

Repeat Chorus

Humming

Verse 3

Now I know what it was

I was supposed to do in this life

Protect the history

Of the Indians many plights

When I look up at the hill

I can see his ghostly shadow

Sitting on a white horse

Protecting all the roads he’s traveled

Repeat Chorus

Humming

The First Snowfall

Written By: Tamara Klumpyan, Terri Ward, Diane Gudex, Brian Klumpyan

VERSE 1

IT’S A LIFETIME AGO

JUST MY LITTLE GIRL AND I

WE WOULD PLAY IN THE SNOW

AND WE’D LAUGH TILL WE’D CRY

EVERY YEAR WAS THE SAME

FOR MY LITTLE GIRL AND I

WHEN THE FIRST SNOWFALL CAME

WE’D MAKE ANGELS THAT FLY

CHORUS

SHE’D SAY, MAMA THE FIRST THING

THAT YOU HAVE TO DO

IS LIE IN THE SNOW

MAMA, WATCH WHAT I DO

MOVE YOUR ARMS UP AND DOWN

LIKE YOU’RE LEARNING TO FLY

AND WATCH THE PRETTY ANGEL

FLY UP TO THE SKY

VERSE 2

THEN MY LITTLE GIRL GOT SICK

THINGS WEREN’T LOOKING SO GOOD

THE FIRST SNOWFALL CAME QUICK

AT THE WINDOW SHE STOOD

DOCTORS SAID WE SHOULDN’T GO

TEARS FELL FROM HER EYES

SO I LAID HER IN THE SNOW

SO SHE COULD WATCH ANGELS FLY

CHORUS

VERSE 3

NOW SHE’S IN MY MEMORIES

THOUGH I STILL FEEL HER NEAR

WITH FIRST SNOWFALLS I SEE

IT HAPPENS YEAR AFTER YEAR

IN THE FRESH FALLEN SNOW

A SNOW ANGEL APPEARS………….

IT’S MY LITTLE GIRL, I KNOW

WHISPERING IN MY EAR.

CHORUS

SHE’D SAY, MAMA THE FIRST THING

THAT YOU HAVE TO DO

IS LIE IN THE SNOW

MAMA WATCH WHAT I DO

MOVE YOUR ARMS UP AND DOWN

LIKE YOU’RE LEARNING TO FLY

SNOWFLAKES FROM HEAVEN ARE A KISS

NOT GOODBYE

REPEAT CHORUS
