Bio
Like a well oiled, steam-driven machine, Tankus the Henge rolls into town!
The summer of 2010 saw Tankus perform at a dozen major UK festivals, unleashing their twisted musings on broken fairytales and the fairground underworld to an ever-wider audience.
With their charismatic frontman, Jaz Delorean, looking like a lost character from a Terry Gilliam film and the pump and grind of the Tankus the Henge sound generating a groove that makes it impossible to stand still, the shows ebb and flow like a small boat on a turbulent sea.
Much of Delorean's youth was spent working in and around both circus and fairground and these influences are very much reflected in the music of Tankus the Henge.
They describe their influences as:
City smokestacks
Fairgrounds at night
Guttering lanterns...
Blessed with a remarkable cast of consumate musicians, Tankus the Henge are uplifting, uninhibited, eccentric, wondrously energetic and beautifully tuneful. One of the best live bands you’ll ever see. Any other band who billed themselves as “the most fantastic band in the world” would rightly quake in their boots at having to live up to such fanfare. Tankus the Henge, a powerhouse 5-piece, go on stage and deliver something that defies you to contradict them!
At home in the big top as much as any conventional venue, they will have you waltzing one minute and rocking the next.
They are putting the finishing touches to their debut album, and chasing urchins down the streets.
