"Brisbane Sounds CD Review"

“...songstress Tara Simmons shimmers with charm and melody in folk-pop ditty All You Can.” - Kate McKenna - Courier Mail

"All You Can EP Review"

The mysteries of success and getting signed remain an arcane secret to me. There's been a range of major labels who all seem to want a Blasko or Miller-Heidke of their own. Some of them have been really crap. Or worse, just ordinary. And then you find something on an indie label which is every bit as good as something have a bunch of money thrown at it. Simmons' voice lilts, but not annoyingly, with a mix of warm stringsand old technology that makes it interesting from a number of angles. Quite lovely in parts. - Ross Clelland - The Drum Media

"Live review - All You Can EP Launch 4.12.09"

It’s difficult to imagine a band as disciplined and tight-knit as Tara Simmons’ eclectic ensemble ever delivering a bad performance but, launching the recently released All You Can EP this evening, Simmons and band present a truly wonderful musical experience. Simmons is effortlessly charming and hilariously frank throughout – “this song is about a woman I used to know when I worked in retail; and she was a bitch” – while the one-time cellist’s multi-layered pop songs remain as fiendishly inventive and gorgeously beautiful as ever. The jazzy arrangements of ‘Long After The Boy’ are always a delight and a solo performance of ‘Meet In The Middle is absolutely heartbreaking in its austere elegance
The beauty of both Simmons and her backing band is their ability to seem so unflinchingly honest and open as performers (cellist Briony Luttrell’s uncomfortable transition to keyboards is accompanied by the affection and support one only witnesses among friends) while delivering such creative and visionary music. It’s somewhat like Christmas – in that it forces one to query; “why can’t live music be like this all the time?”. - MATT O’NEILL - Time Off
