Lyrics

Every Little Word

Written By: Tara Vaughan

This city fades towards the end of the day
Blurry houses and streetlights chase my thoughts away
But they always come running back to you
Unsentimental things you do
Though they stick in my head, I can’t find the time to say
Please stay
And you, to me you’re brighter than the sun in the sky
And twice as far away
But I, I’ll be hangin’ on to every little word you say tonight
In your light
These stars fade, as the night rolls away
The orange glow of these streets is the only sign of a new day
My dizzy thoughts are cannonballing
But no sign of you, you’re still not callin
Try to calm my mind as I realize I let you slip away
All I want is to say
That you, to me you’re brighter than the sun in the sky
And twice as far away
But I, I’ll be hangin’ on to every little word you say tonight
In your light
So much time in today, but I’ve thrown it away
I keep hopin tomorrow, I’ll find the courage to say
What I can’t say
That you, to me you’re brighter than the sun in the sky
And twice as far away
But I, I’ll be hangin’ on to every little word you say tonight
In your light
