Bio

Tarryn Smith is a Nashville based singer-songwriter with a pure voice that some describe as "angelic" and an “edgier Allison Krauss”. Her memorable melodies and relatable lyrics have gained her a following as an artist that continues to grow, and she has also had some of her tunes cut by other artists and placed on award-winning albums. Tarryn plays out regularly at well-known venues, festivals, and private parties as a solo act with just her and a guitar or with a full-band, singing her original music and well-known cover songs. She has been a featured artist on the Billy Block Show multiple times with her songs played live on Nashville's WKDF and was voted “WMBA Entertainer of the Year” in 2009 by the Women’s Music Business Association. In the fall of 2010 she attended Tom Jackson’s Live Music Bootcamp and won the “Top Performer” award, gaining her a recording session with award-winning producer, Mark Heimmerman. Tarryn and her co-writers, Wil Nance and Steve Dean, penned the title cut of Jeff and Shari Easters’ “Expecting Good Things” album that was nominated for a 2011 GRAMMY, and the song has also been placed on the Gaither Homecoming “Majesty” CD and DVD recorded live on an Alaskan cruise.

Raised in a musical family in Indiana, Tarryn titled her first CD release after her song "I Know Where I Come From". She wrote or co-wrote all 15 songs on the CD, which was co-produced by hit songwriter/producer Steve Dean. Steve has penned six number one’s including 2007 Billboard Magazine country song of the year “Watching You” by Rodney Adkins.

At the beginning of 2011, Tarryn’s six song EP was released by Luna Chica Records, a Nashville based independent label that focuses on internet promotion and distribution. Tarryn is currently writing towards recording a new project in the next few months.
