Tartufo Pessoa is a project of Bruno Kayapy who was founder, guitarist and composer of the band Macaco Bong. Tartufo Pessoa is 100% Brazilian. In this new moment, leaving the guitar distorted aside, Bruno Kayapy walks through the essences of acoustic sounds, rural melodies originating from the quilombola communities that come from their cultural and family roots of the state of Mato Grosso, thus bringing a more tribal, Indian, Pantanal and Amazonian music universalized with Latin American music. Its main reference is the Afro-descendant and riverine folk groups such as the Congo Group of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade, as well as the Chamamé sul mato-grossense with its rural songs of ciranda and the sertaneja music of the roots. The main elements that inspired this work are the legacy of South Mato Grosso music by Helena Meirelles, Almir Sater, Tetê and Alzira Espíndola, Guilherme Rondon, Cururu and Siriri, which is the rhythm of Mato Grosso's regional music derived from Afro culture and local quilombola and also influenced by names like Tony Allen, Féla Kuti, Lenine, Zé Ramalho, Luiz Gonzaga, Gilberto Gil, Gonzaguinha and Chico Science. Two other major references to Bruno in this work are Rabbi Abuh Kalil, Markus Vamvakaris, Ali Farka Turé, Jerry Reed, Bombino, Luiz Bonfa, Jerry Douglas, Béla Fleck, Robert Johnson and Skip James.
