Bio
A lo-fi twang experiment with tinges of psychedelia, they play pastoral sea-side songs layered in textures of feedback, accordion, and violin. A group of scholars, history buffs, international trouble-makers, and NYC music scene vets, Tatters & Rags debuted in 2008 when they opened for legendary British post-punk band the Nightingales.
Since then the group has concentrated on finishing their debut album, re-appearing from time to time to play shows with groups such as the Black Swans, The Beets, and the Nightingales (again), always attracting positive reviews and good-sized crowds.
Their debut album nearing completion, a lead-off limited edition 7" single of their song "Heartache" (b/w "Til the Money Runs Out") will be released by Brooklyn's No No No Records in August 2009, with a full-length album to follow shortly in the fall.
