Tatum G Rush is the stage name of Geneva based 21 years old singer / songwriter from San Diego/Lugano, Giordano Rush. He studies performance at the Haute Ecole d’Art et Design in Geneva. As well as performing voice/guitar solo shows, he also works with musicians and producers such as Björn Magnusson a.k.a Great Black Waters, with whom recorded the album Tropical Mystics, and tours with acclaimed jazz musicians such as one of Switzerland’s finest guitarist Roberto Pianca, bassist Roberto Bordiga and drummer Luca Marini.
Tropical Mystics is a 7-track EP album recorded under supervision of Björn Magnusson in his studio in Brunnen CH around the dawn of 2011, with a compromise between traditional recording techniques and more experimental ones, with the use of old analogic machines and reels gone bad, to obtain a sound that reminds of some Detroit motown records, and far away hawaiian echoes. What you hear is Pop, Soul, folk-rock, and tape noise in all its purity.
