Bristol's Tax The Heat was born from a pure love of straight-ahead rhythm and blues music. With nods to many of their influences, the music they create has come into it’s own and is ready to be unleashed onto the world.
Tax The Heat started out when old school friends Alex Veale (vocals/guitar) & Jack Taylor (drums/BV's) recently bumped into each other whilst rummaging through a used vinyl section in the local record shop. A chat over coffee that same afternoon led to setting up a number of Jam sessions in Alex's living room.
Playing and writing together became fruitful and exciting but both players knew that the music that they were writing needed a proper band. In the coming months Antonio Angotti (Bass/BV's) and JP Jacyshyn (Guitar/Keys) were added to the mix and immediately the group found themselves on the same wavelength, enjoying the camaraderie and excitement of the band.
Calling back to a time when music was recorded live, the musicians all playing together becoming a sum that is greater than its parts. The music is pure and harkens to a time when music was still new, vibrant and exciting!
Embracing a can do attitude, the band started recording their own demos using whatever suitable equipment and whatever locations are available at the time. These demos bring together elements of 60's R&B, 70's classic rock and contemporary song writing, with a deep-rooted blues ethic to everything they produce.
The southwest foursome are ready to bring their music to the people in 2013. Tax The Heat are here!
