Bio
Hi, my name is Taylor Downes. Im 15 years old and split my time between my hometown, in Southeastern PA and Nashville, TN. Ive been writing music for about 5 years. I learned to play guitar when I was 7. I recently wrote, recorded and helped produce my first album, Dream Big, featuring 13 of my original songs. My album is now available on iTunes and CD baby. Im a member of ASCAP and NSAI organizations and have a website and facebook fan page.
My musical influences include Sheryl Crowe, Colbie Caillet, Sara McLaughlin, Howie Day, James Taylor and Taylor Swift, Cassadee Pope. My writing inspiration is an honest portrayal of the ups and downs of being a real teenager and hope will be inspiring to others in the teenage demographic.
I have regularly been playing local coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants, and fairs. I performed 3 of my own songs before the fireworks show at this past years fair for about 5,000 spectators. I also play quite a bit of open mics and have played at Nashvilles famous Bluebird Caf. After that show I had a bunch of people approach me and encourage me to keep writing and performing. The highlight though was when a random stranger saw me the next day on the street and asked if I performed at the Bluebird the previous night.
