Taylor Alexander

Taylor Alexander Carruthers grew up in a musical family, (Multiple musicians from both sides). The Cincinnati native, older brother of Mia Carruthers (formerly of MTV's Taking the Stage), began playing guitar at age 12 and began writing songs/performing by 16.

Taylor was the lead guitarist for "Mia Carruthers and the Retros" whose first EP debuted at #24 on the iTunes Pop Charts. The young group peaked with a Universal Republic showcase and a US Open performance in 2010. Taylor has since gone on to pursue his solo career and independently released his debut EP in 2012. It is currently available on iTunes.

Alexander toured with fellow Cincinnatians, folk duo, Young Heirlooms late 2012. Blues, folk and Pop inspired, he has begun working with local legend Chris Schmidt (recorded Walk the Moon's independent release) on his second record entitled "ART LP."

"The ART LP is exciting to me," Taylor says. "Ha that rhymed.... its a combination of my interpretation of blues, folk, and pop. I tend to write about my emotional reactions to situations in my life and these songs are a glimpse into some of those moments."
