Joining Brooks on 'Shine!' are San Francisco Bay Area producer and guitarist Danny Uzilevsky and a force of a-list Northern California musicians and studio all-stars.

"The record is really great sounding, and the songs are unique and emotional as well. So congratulations! Thanks for allowing me to be part of it! "
Bonnie Hayes: multi-platinum songwriter (Bonnie Raitt)

"It really kicks a lot of ass."
Chris Manning: mixing engineer (Santana, Ted Nugent)

Taylor's credits include writing songs for the Temptations on their platinum release 'Phoenix Rising', as well as their Grammy-winning follow-up 'Ear-Resistable.' Her song 'Touch' (a duet with John Legend) appears on Ray Charles’ 'Genius & Friends.'

Country Style

Written By: © 2008 Taylor Brooks/Taylor Brooks Tunes, ASCAP

Maybe I’m crazy for flirting with a boy like you
And Mama always told me to watch what I say & do
But you were standing in the corner looking so alone
Don’t you have nobody to take you home?

Your big blue eyes put an R in the word romance
You melted my heart with your smile & your casual glance
Looking so young and innocent, no jaded, worldly way
Drawn to your magnet and here I’ll stay

Oh yeah — alright
Two-steppin’ on a Saturday night
So fine
Oowee — uh-huh
Let’s show ‘em how it’s done
Country Style

From that very first moment I wanted to make you mine
Well what the others say about us is fine with me, just fine
They don’t know you the way I do
And they don’t see all the sweet things I see in you

Oh yeah — alright
Two-steppin’ on a Saturday night
So fine
Oowee — uh-huh
Let’s show ‘em how it’s done
Country Style

In the middle of a crowded room stood you & I
The world was melting around us just like a sigh
And then I felt our hearts beat as one
And then I knew that I knew that our time had just begun
That’s when I knew that I knew that our time had just begun
And I knew that our time had just begun

Oh yeah — alright
Two-steppin’ on a Saturday night
Oowee — uh-huh
Let’s show ‘em how it’s done

Mountain's Song

Written By: © 2008 Taylor Brooks/Taylor Brooks Tunes, ASCAP

Crickets buzzin’ in the Smoky Mountain midnight
Fireflies flicker and it won’t be long
‘Til I will lie alone in sweet, sweet slumber
With the Mountain’s Song

Moonlight shining through my back porch window
Autumn’s coming and it won’t be long
Until the trees are full of richest red & amber
And the Mountain’s Song

I can hear the silence of the Earth in dead of winter
I can feel the thunder of a summer storm
All the seasons are just Nature’s way of singing along
With the Mountain’s Song

That’s crying in the wind
The fox & the black bear have finally settled in
Cycles are coming to an end
But after the long winter the world is born again

Crickets buzzin’ in the Smoky Mountain midnight
Fireflies flicker and it won’t be long
‘Til I will lie alone in the sweetest, sweetest slumber
With the Mountain’s Song

Stay the same...

Home

Southbound to Memphis won’t you take me on home
To the Eastern sky where I come from
Been out here in the West too long
Time to go

Left this evening out of LAX
Got caught in the jetstream on the red-eye express
Flight touch down from the wild, wild West

Honey you
You’ll be there, too

Left this morning BWI
Gotta get back or I’m gonna cry
California dreaming fly west blue sky
Time to go

Home’s where my heart is or so I have read
The place I’d rather be instead
My home seems to follow wherever I’m led
(Time to go)

Honey you
You’ll be there, too
Honey you
You’ll be there, too

I like the morning when it’s quiet and still
In the air over America — fly on free will
Soon the sun will be shining on my windowsill

And I’ll be singing... You
You’ll be there, too
