Taylor Jenkins
Singer/Songwriter

A.K.A. Steve Shoemaker
3245 23rd St. N.
St. Petersburg, FL, 33713
(727) 251-9913

Born: Cleveland, OH
Hobbies: Boating, Fishing, Surfing
Favorite Artists: Garth Brooks, Boston,
Crossfade, Celine Dione, Casting Crowns
Vocal Influence: Creed, Garth Brooks

Taylor Jenkins has an unnatural passion for music, that can only be satisfied by achieving a full time career in the music industry. Often he will wake up in the middle of the night to write down a song that is playing in his head, or hum a melody into his recorder. He wakes up singing, and whistling and continues all day most days. Taylor has been writing for over fifteen years, and working to eventually get that favored break it takes to become part of the music world. After several different band projects over the last fifteen years, Taylor has been unsuccessful in finding that chemistry of guys with the same focus and drive it takes to make it. Recently inspired by the artist “Daughtry”, as a soloist, he has decided to take to the studio to configure his own album. He says, “It’s been truly exhilarating, sharpening my skills on all the instruments.” He hopes to catch the ear of someone in the right position, that is willing to give him a shot, finding something in his writing, or in his voice. His material usually has a message of teaching or causing the listener to think in some way, saying huh? Occasionally there is just a funny or personal experience though. Overall he hopes to help the world curve from the seemingly destructive path it has taken in the last several decades. Taylor has such a wide range of genres, when it comes to writing. One day he’s hearing a country song accompanying a certain lyric, while feeling an R&B sound the next. Obviously he doesn’t intend to perform in all markets, but maybe someone looking for material in one of the other market might be interested. Being a business owner and father, Taylor believes that this will add to the skills and endurance it takes to hang in the demanding and fast paced world of the music biz. After all, most everyone knows music is mostly business! With so many great aspiring artists out there, he realizes it all comes down to someone giving you that initial shot, and from there it’s up to the artist to sink or swim. Like any opportunity in life though, talent and true passion for something only add up to one thing, success!! In the poetry piece, Taylor got accepted into the 2006 publication of The International Library of Poetry, he sums it up in the poem titled “Fathers of Music”, which gives credit to superstars, but then tells the reader they are also a star as they gaze up on stage. Jenkins also adds, “We just have to cultivate that seed the good Lord put in our program from the get go.” Jenkins hopes being a Christian in faith, and having God on his side will give him some edge getting into music full time. He want to sincerely thank all of the readers and listeners of his material he presents for consideration. And would like to add, “There is plenty more where that came from”, if you like or think there is some potential there.
