Taylor Smith

The mission behind the music of Taylor Smith could be described in 2 words: "progressive truth" He may not look like an emcee but with a mixture of an amazing message, in depth beats and rhyme schemes, and a stage presence like you’ve never seen before, Taylor Smith is far from a just a tattooed suburban kid. Growing up in an average middle class household Taylor took what had and threw it all away. After a few years of sifting through the rubble of his life, he found hip hop as the perfect platform to express himself and share not only his troubled past with others, but also his high hopes for the future. After a few months of writing, recording and working he released his first full length album and started to hand it out on the streets and at shows. Soon after he dipped back to the underground to begin work on what would be his biggest accomplishment yet.

After 2 ½ years of remaining in the shadows Taylor teamed up with San Diego DJ Post1 and they began to wrap up the second full length album from Taylor Smith. Now, began a movement that will be imprinted in the local hip hop scene for good, “Stay Grateful” was not only his second album, but also carried a strong message to everyone who listened. A message of truth and awareness. Taylor began to do what he does best, give out free music in the hopes of spreading a message for change. Propagating the advancement of humanity through conscious hip hop.

Taylor has also helped launch Modern Organic. Modern Organic was launched as a platform to present and showcase the personalities and creative efforts of a diverse collective of musicians associated by personal connections, mutual appreciations and respect of each others work. He has toured the US as well as Eastern Europe and has quite a fan base in both areas.
