Taylr Smith

Taylr Smith was born and raised in Placentia, California, just outside Los Angeles. Like many talented singers before her, Taylr started singing at the age of 3 at her church. The sound of Gospel music compelled her to come out front and center and show the world her God-given talents. It was there where she gained her 1st exposure to live performances. In her early teens, Taylr caught the "star" bug and convinced her parents that singing and performing is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She went on to compete in the Showtime at the Pollo - Kids national talent showcase. She even gave it a go at the American Idol auditions. But she quickly learned that she was not willing to compromise herself just for the chance to get on TV. She soon retreated to her own world where she fine-tuned her voice and writing skills. Now at 19, she has blended her vintage soul influences into her own unique brand of soul music. She has put an incredible band together that brings back the days of authentic and entertaining live performances. Taylr is also busy in the studio working on new material. She has teamed with top producers in LA and Chicago who have an impressive track record, having worked with the likes of Kanye West, Common, JoJo, Bobby Valentino, and Boys II Men. Taylr and her managers plan to go the digital route with her debut record, which will be released digitally in late 2007.
