It's hard to put a label on TBC HOUSE BAND, people ask... "What kind of music do you play?" Well, it's complicated. It changes, it grows, it's always taking shape as we play. It started with Americana/ Roots/ Blues and has morphed into that mixed with a Jazzy Southern Funky feel. It's hard not to get a little funky when brass is in the mix. We all have different influences, they range from Bob Dylan to Art Blakey, Neutral Milk Hotel to Buena Vista Social Club, Chuck Berry to Hank Williams. We all bring something different to the table and the sound we have created together is truly, an original one. People come up to us after shows a say,"it looks like y'all are having such a fun time up there," that is what sets us apart from other bands, especially here in Austin, Texas. The audience is only going to have as much fun as the band they are watching, and that's the rule we always try to keep in mind.
