Biography

TBR (Texas BackRoads) is the by-product of a chance meeting on the internet between Michael Langran & Lisa Gaye. Together they hosted an international talent showcase and monthly singing competition via live internet connections.
These competitors were global including USA, Australia, UK and Europe.

From here Michael (Known as "Luckee") & Lisa evolved into a live act in the Houston area and TBR was the natural evolution.

In January 2006 TBR was one of several artists featured on TEXAS MUSIC MAGAZINE's Winter issue compilation CD included with the magazine for that quarter. The CD featured a variety of Texas Music styles. The featured song from TBR's debut album was; "Feelings of Courage, Pt.II".

Feelings of Courage is a 3 part song with Pt.II being the radio version. Pt.I: Feelings Come - Pt.II: Feelings of Courage - Pt.III: Feelings Go.

Blame it all on your feelings, Oh they’re coming on so strong,
Where there’s love there is courage, That belongs to someone.
I can’t fight these emotions, that flood through my veins,
Everyone has a weakness, it seems to be the same.

By my side I have a family, That I, belong to,
I know the joy and the laughter, that is seething inside of you
Open up and fight for courage, from below and from beyond,
For there are many heroes, that come unto one.

Chorus:

Feelings come and feelings go,
Oh oh Oh, Don’t we all know.
Courage has that symbol, all of life, it tells us so.
I can’t fight these emotions, that flood through my veins,
Everyone has a weakness, it seems to be the same.

Standing alone on this platform, that we a-ll, know as Earth,
Looking down from my outer body, th-at once, was never heard,
I can no longer fight these feelings, that come from a-far,
For there is greater courage, raining down, on you all.

CHORUS II:

Feelings come and feelings go,
Oh oh Oh, Don’t we all know.
Courage has that symbol, all of life, it tells us so.
Stand up and fight for courage, from below and from beyond,
O-oh there are many heroes, that come unto one.

ENDING:

Oh and will You fight for our love and freedom,
We have come so far.

I was sittin’ at a table, a waitress happened by,
I said, ma’am can you help me, drown these tears from my eyes?
She turned then addressed me, Sir, it’s closin’ time,
But if you need someone to talk to, I’ll oblige.

I told her about you baby, beauty beyond compare,
The sparkle in your brown eyes, the love two hearts once shared
How one day it ended, you said you found someone new,
Then left me here, cryin’, and missin’ you.

Chorus I: “I asked her”

Where do lovers go, when they die of a broken heart?
Do they simply fade away, like teardrops on my face?

Instrumental:
V2:
My heart wants to beg you, Give us just one more try,
Then I watch you start packin’, I know your love has died.
I just can’t stop thinkin’, Two halves make up a whole,
Now that you are leaving, You’ve packed my heart and soul.

Chorus II:

Is there a place in heaven, we can all have a brand new start?
Oh where do lovers go, when they die of a broken heart?

Repeat Bridge:

Oh where do lovers go, when they di-e, of a broken hea-rt?

He Keeps Buying Roses

Five o’clock, the whistle blows,
Guess it’s time for him to go on home.
He’s never in a hurry,
He is, all alone.
Someone stole his angel,
The only love he could call his own.

Bridge:
But he still buys her roses, Her favorite pretty roses,
He still buys her roses, Even though she’s gone.

Never got to say goodbye,
She was gone before the morning light.
Just a cold note on the table,
Said she’s tired of livin’ this lie.
So every Friday now on fifteen years,
A dozen memories you’ll find in his arms.

Repeat Bridge:

Chorus/Bridge:
Because roses bring back, the memories,
Of her smile when he gives them to her.
And her smile was the key, that unlocked the door,
To the happiness in his world.
So now he prays to the lord, each and every night,
That one day she’ll come back home.

So he keeps buying roses, Her favorite yellow roses,
He still buys her roses, Even though she’s gone.

Saturday mornings, He’s in the back yard,
Neath her favorite Live Oak tree.
Where he carved the words, “I Love You” in a heart,
When he was, twenty three.
To this day those words still read,
“Forever and Evermore”.

So he keeps buying roses, Her favorite yellow roses,
He keeps buying roses, Even though she’s gone.

Now on Sundays, right after church,
There’s somewhere that he has to go.
So he takes his dozen memories,
And he lays them on her stone.
He bows his head, and asks the Lord why,
Then he cries himself on home.

But he keeps buying roses, Her favorite pretty roses,
He’ll always buy her roses, Even though she’s gone.

Repeat Chorus/Bridge:
