Bio

There was a time in hip hop where originality was key in order to break through into the hip hop game. A lot of great artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, Pete Rock & C. L. Smooth, and others created a foundation for rappers to express themselves in a way that preserved hip hop, but achieved originality. Since then, today’s music has evolved and took a shape to where a standard has developed. “We’re here to make hot music and express ourselves at the same time,” said T Dot. DBE Music Group presents T Dot & Ox.

T Dot & Ox is comprised of two flamboyant lyricists from Raleigh, NC. T Dot is the edgy, unpredictable; low profile half of the group. Ox represents the rebellious, street-smart side that has visualized the ups and downs of reality. Both artists have a common goal of solidifying their position and certifying the new accomplishments of their careers in the industry.

Ever since their younger years, T Dot & Ox have developed a relationship that has grown into what has become a joint venture into hip hop. “Me and T Dot been writing and rapping since I could remember”, said Ox. “We’ve evolved into something that we feel that can make a mark in the game.” Armed with an arsenal of songs that covers every spectrum, you will defiantley be able to enjoy any track that is presented to your ears.

R U Dub, president of DBE Music Group, discovered T Dot & Ox while working on DBE Mixtape Volume 1 The Foundation, which was one of the hottest underground mixtapes of 2005. “Once we established a dialogue and worked together on some tracks, I definitely felt that T Dot & Ox had all of the attributes to take their talent to the next level”, said R U Dub. Songs like “One Way Out”, “Hostage”, and “TKO” were the classics on the project that earned instant street credibility with the fans. The success of the mixtape was all due to the breakthrough features of Raleigh’s finest.

“The EP” (release date March 28, 2006), which is a 6 track appetizer, features “Check” (produced by T Dot); an up tempo, guitar laced anthem that prepares you for the club [I got my fitted on, check, buttoned up, check, condoms in my back pocket ready for sex]. This release also includes songs like “Ya’ll Don’t Want That” featuring D. Jewelz, “Streetz”, “Yeah”, and more.

The debut album from T Dot & Ox titled “2 of a Kind” is a release that will be compared to some of the greatest CD’s of all times. “The concept of the album was just to show the world who we are and what we bring to the table,” said T Dot. “It [the album] will take you to a place where you haven’t been in a while”. The 21-track project is filled with everything imaginable which leaves every listener satisfied.
