T-Dub & The Internationals was founded in the spring of 2008 when two long time friends, Thierry Sertyn (guitar/lead vocals) and Shaun Howerton (DJ,/turntables), came together to form the core of "T-Dub & The Internationals". A unique fusion of style and sound.
Thierry Sertyn (T-Dub) comes to California from Brussels Belgium. Shaun Howerton (D.J. Fuzion), is a Bay area native. The two met in Sacramento California. Initially, Thierry and Shaun worked on defining the soul of their sound. However, within a year, Thierry and Shaun began to reach out to other musicians. T-Dub took flight embracing the essence of musicians hailing from Kenya, Benin, Haiti, Morocco, Philippine, and other countries, giving birth to the name T-Dub & The Internationals.
T-Dub & The internationals is an unequaled combination of Reggae vibes and Dub culture that simply must be heard. The closest artistic comparisons are Lee Scratch Perry, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Serge Gainsbourg, Groundation, etc...
T-Dub & The Internationals extends the basic sound of these great artists by bringing a world music flavor to everything they do.
Every song is unique and memorable by its poetic prose supported by rhythmic vibrations bringing the Reggae/Dub sound to an entirely new level of listening experience.
T-Dub & The Internationals has evolved into a a full reggae band featuring Bass, Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals, Drums, DJ, Percussion, and often guest musicians playing a variety of other instruments adding depth to the music.
T-Dub & The Internationals has had the privilege of playing with some renowned Reggae and Dub artist such as Vince Black, Mystic Roots Band, Mike Pinto and more. We are honored to have a firm following throughout the State of California... and growing through other states and countries... Look for us at a venue near you soon.
