Bio

Drummerboy Music Production was founded by an ambious young percussionist turned producer Eugene James. He was born and raised in Kansas City where his rich history in music began.
The development of his unique talent began at the tender age of 10, when Eugene discovered his desire to play the drums. He practiced under the direction of his Godfather/mentor Donald Kelly. Not long after Eugene began to receive praise and awards for his outstanding gospel and jazz performance. By age 16 he was one of the top select percussionist in Kansas City and was continuously on call by numerous churches, events, local and national recording artists. His passion for music grew and he continued to work as just a musician until he hit some major milestones in his life. In 2004 Eugene wrote his first song entitled Home that was inspired by the passing of his brother. In search of a way to mourn his loss Eugene turned to what he knew best…music. During this time, writing songs transitioned from a hobby to a profession. In 2006 Eugene hired on a staff in hopes of establishing a successful production company. Along with producing he did whatever he could to gain additional knowledge to improve his ability. He began taking the experience he learned over the years and incorporating different techniques into his production. Drummerboy Music Productions first live concert/recording took place on May 28, 2006, which featured 5 original songs, written and produced by Eugene. Not long after his first recording he extended to the mainstream producing tracks for various local RnB, gospel, jazz and neo-soul artists’ albums. Since then the company has been asked to music direct local events, some featuring national artist.
“I thank God for the gift of music, every opportunity and the process that God is taking me through for now and for my future.”
Currently Eugene and his staff work prestigiously to build a company that delivers beyond satisfactory work at all times. He aspires to redefine entire genres of music with his collective knowledge and talent by introducing a new refreshing sound to his clients, and audience. This young native indeed has a rich history in the industry but shows no signs of slowing down. In fact he refers to his past as only the beginning.
