Bio

The two-year life history of Team William has been a string of triumphs until now. They won a prize at almost every contest they were participating in: Humo’s Rock Rally (bronze), Grote Prijs Der Lage Landen (a competition between bands from The Netherlands and Belgium: gold), Fnac Unsigned Music Talents (gold). The success formula of the band? Pure and extremely catchy pop music and purely mad live concerts! (Ever seen a keyboardist eating a set list on stage, taking of his shoes and throwing them in the audience?).

Kurt Overbergh (Talent buyer of AB, one of the biggest Belgian venues ): "Seeing Team William is always a pleasure... Team William will definitely make it... What an energy, lots of soul, and very natural..."
Humo (biggest Belgian magazine): "...Team William sounded as if The Libertines were playing Roxy Music, and they had no problem keeping up the level..."

In the spring of 2009 Team William started together with producer Mario Goossens (The Black Box Revelation, Triggerfinger) to record the pop CD of the century. In between, the band also went to Canada to play during the well known North American showcase festival “Canadian Music Week”. The Canadians weren’t a match for Team William. JIMtv (Belgian national television) made a mini-documentary their studio work. first episode can be seen here.

Rif Raf: « The Belgian band of the year ? »

Also outside Belgium Team William is the talk of the town for quite some town. In the spring of 2009 for instance the band impressed audience, press and music business with their shows on big international showcases such as Canadian Music Week (Toronto) and Go North (Inverness). In the same period Team William was selected by the Belgian organisation for pop/rocktalent Poppunt to represent the young Belgian Music scène abroad. Finally also the American indie-blog Guilt Free Pleasures praises the band for songs such as “70%“: “You know a song has made an impact when you mindlessly sing part of it while doing something completely mundane. I hope Team William heads over to the states soon for a tour.” On this blog Team William is joining illustrious acts like Lilly Allen, Bloc Party, Sigur Ros, …
