TEARS

Tears was born Calvin A. Goins, started rhyming almost twenty years ago during his elementary years. In New York Tears made a reputation for himself as a superior emcee and became a champion of verbally ballistic battles where others emcees challenged for the title. Tears formed a crew of superior emcees named “Roudy Bunch” who became submerged in the hip-hop underground. Eventually they became legends across the United States literally destroying other hip-hop crews with lyrical wizardry. What has now began over twelve years ago as a collective of Long Island performers has since evolved into an ongoing collaboration or artists, musicians, opera singers, comedians, poets, producers, models, and actors. Tears status and popularity gave him exposure and his songs became well known for their creative genius. Tears has worked with many artist in the music industry and most recently was signed to Vibe Records where he created a buzz that eventually had the music industry checking for him. At Vibe Records Tears continued to hone his skills as an emcee and music producer. Thus far Tears has compiled a catalog of hit music awaiting a global release to the world.

Tears was reared on listening to artist like Marvin Gaye who inspired him to get involved in making music. Tears is also influenced by artists such as Lenny Kravitz and Garth Brooks. The name Tears originated because when he’s rapping and changing his affliction and pitch in his voice he sounds like he crying when performing. Tears comments, “When I first write, it’s raw energy. If I’m feeling happy or sad or angry – it will come out in the song. I’m like a rain storm with thunder and lighting and you’ll feel and hear that in my music and see it in my stage performance”.

What enables Tears to stand out among his competition isn’t only superior skills but the ability to differentiate and segregate himself from other music artist. In an industry that specializes in manufactured stars, comprising of trend followers, allows Tears to emerge as a true artist and trendsetter. Therefore you never see diamonds blinging off his wrist or gold chains hanging from his neck. His style will remain fresh and innovative consisting of music from genres ranging from county to pop-rock to hard-core hip-hop. Tears states, “Being myself is important, being yourself is important, do your thing”. Tears has remained humble and confident and believes he’s already a complete success in the music industry but the world hasn’t captured his music awaiting to be released and spread like fire on gasoline globally.

With Tears and Roudy Bunch versatility and diversity, Tears remains humble and knows his introduction to the public will be a piece of him released to the world that will change hip-hop for the better and expand the dimensions of music executives standards. With the unusual customs, like monkey dolls hanging from his neck, and spikes sticking out from his head like a crown of royalty, there isn’t a doubt that Tears genius in song writing and music production is a potent chemical formula for destined success.
