"Excerpt from Desert Sun IPAC Festival review"

"The festival featured four venues with several bands playing at once, just like the internationally renowned Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in late April in Indio.

It also featured a mix of musical genres, like Coachella, although 'Rock the IPAC' featured blues and classic rock instead hip-hop and electronica.

But some of the indie rock bands at 'Rock the IPAC' performed original music that was certainly comparable to many indie bands that have played Coachella — particularly Technicolor Wolves and The Pedestrians" - The Desert Sun

"IPAC Standouts"

"The breakout bands of this festival, from what I've seen, appear to be The Pedestrians and Technicolor Wolves.

The Mighty Delta-Tones are an outstanding blues band, and every music fan in this valley knows how good John Stanley King is. But, in terms of freshness and vitality, The Pedestrians and Technicolor Wolves are it.

Technicolor Wolves are strong, budding songwriters. Lincoln Jesser and Dan Fromhart on guitar and vocals have a musical maturity beyond their years that give the band a broad range and the prospects for big things in the future."

"Technicolor Wolves has a more poppy indie rock sound than Sunday Funeral, but they're just as fresh and vital, and, like Weezer, they can wratchet it up a notch and rock. I like that they write accessible songs, but they're also polished for such a young band. They vary their tempos and dynamics, add an electronica soundscape and throw in an old cover song once in a while. They also do a great job on Weezer's "Sweater."" - Bruce Fessier

Bio

Technicolor Wolves are a Palm Desert based band who have developed a uniquely energetic fan culture and sound. They draw on a wide array of musical influences spanning multiple genres; The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Sublime, Beirut, and Atmosphere all come to mind when listening to the Technicolor Wolves song lexicon. Having grown up in the birth place of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, the band is extremely aware of what it takes to connect people through music. The Tech Wolves are rapidly rising in every scene they enter and were just named "Best New Band of 2008," by Coachella Valley Arts Scene Blog.
