First album "Feleque" has been released in 2003 by Elec-Trip Records / Istanbul.

What happens if you combine Turkish Rom music with electronic rhythm sections? In 2002, these intriguing questions lead to the formation of Techno Roman Project, a group of musicians who explore the co-existence of tradition and technology.
Techno Roman Project recorded their first album "Feleque" which was released by Elec-Trip Records in Istanbul. In the album, famous clarinet player Selim Sesler and his team represented the "Rom" portion of Techno Roman Project. DZA, Elec-Trip Records' electronic music arrangers at the time, built the "electronic" part of the project. The creator of the project, percussionist Lari Dilmen, managed to build a bridge between two distinct worlds as the musical director of "Feleque".

Techno Roman Project gets on stage to perform their own songs, as well as new interpretations of classic songs, such as "Mavi Boncuk". Techno Roman Project performs under the leadership of project's music director Lari Dilmen and the project's producer/DJ Oguz Kaplangi. Other musicians on stage play the clarinet, qanun, darbuka, thunder drum and they are usually accompanied by a belly dancer.

Oguz Kaplangi, the producer of Portecho, Istanbul Calling, Techno Roman Project, Lava and Deja-Vu's albums, is also the head of Elec-Trip music production company. He continues to give concerts as producer/DJ with Istanbul Calling and Techno Roman Project both in Turkey and abroad; at Elec-Trip Jingles he produces jingles for many brands and scores films. Oguz Kaplangi is an ex-member of the band Rebel Moves and he is one of the founders of Middle Eastern Technical University's reputable radio, Radyo ODTU.

Lari Dilmen had a world music radio program called "Flying Carpet" on Acik Radyo. He wrote articles on world music and participated in conferences, took part in various records as an artist, project manager and music director. Lari developed his own hybrid set of percussion, blending electronic as well as ethnic percussion, drums, toys and winds. He worked with many famous artists such as Sezen Aksu, Yeni Türkü, Senem Diyici/Alain Blessing, Okay Temiz, Alihan Samedov, Selim Sesler, Erkan Ogur, O.F. Tekbilek, Maffy Falay, Bulent Ortacgil, Yasmin Levy, Lamine Konte, Djivan Gasparyan and Arto Tuncboyaci. Lari Dilmen is also among the founders of Flying Carpet, Gumusluk Art Ensemble, Experimental Music Ensemble, The Tree, LÖK and Gaipten Sesler.
