BandCountryBluegrass

I am a Songwriter/Artist/Publisher/Producer. Founder/owner of the BAR T Publishing. In most recent years I have had the enjoyment of being a 2007 Colgate Country Showdown contestant, a new band The "County Line" and having my latest three song debute on KAMU-FM 90.9 & Celebration Radio 101.5 KAMB.

Biography

I was born in the Appalachian Mountains of Maine in the small town of Weld. Home of Web Lake & Mount Blue State Park. I grew up with my father and relatives playing Bluegrass and Country music. As a youngster and teenager I spent my weekends playing gig's with my father and the Midnight Ramblers. I taught myself to play the guitar at the age of 14 and started writing music shortly there after. I was selected all four year of high school as a lead tenor in the All-State high school chorus and soloed as a guitarist my senior year. I consider it great honor to have opened the stage for Tammy Wynette at the age of 16 in a Farmington, Maine County Fair Concert. Upon graduation from Mt. Blue High School I enter the Army and spent six years serving my country. During that time I continued to compose music and made my first attempt at Nashville. After separation from the Armed Forces, I worked as an open range cowboy. I continued with my songwriting always enjoying playing the guitar and singing around the campfires and cow camps of which I lived and rode. The passing of my father in May of 2001 inspired me to pursue the publishing of my music. Today I continue to compose songs about life and my adventures.I enjoyed my involvement with the RoughRider Band of which I was a co-founder, background vocalist, guitarist, mandolin, and keyboard player. I have also had the honors of Ten Compositions in the Broadjam.com Top 10 listing in the 2006 and 2007.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the songs that I have written as much as I have enjoyed writing them. God Bless each one of you. May your life be filled with love and sunshine.

Fox Played The Fiddle

Fox Played The Fiddle
© 2006 Herterich/Cochran
v.1
The fox played the fiddle for the sheep in the bay
He played all night and he played all day
The fox played fast and the fox played slow
The fox played the waltz in an even tempo

c.
Out came the sheep
And he gobbled them up
The fox ran away
And drank honey from a cup
He lay in the meadow
‘til the sun went down
He picked up his fiddle
and played another round

v.2
The fox played fiddle for the hens as they lay
He played all night and he played all day
he played on his belly and he played on his toes
the fox played a lullaby sweet and low

c.
Out came the hens
And he gobbled them up
The fox ran away
And drank honey from a cup
He lay in the meadow
‘til the sun went down
He picked up his fiddle
and he went down town

tag
Sly is the fox with a fiddle and a bow
were he’ll play next you never know
Sly is the fox with a fiddle and a bow
Round and round the circle goes
Round and round the circle goes

The Oak

Written By: © 2007 Teddie Cochran

Draped in Spanish moss
In the valley of the sun
Standing on the brazen slope
Where goldenrods are spun
A tree of such grandeur
Soars above the wheat
Swaying and bending
The strength among the meek

It reaches toward the heavens
Whispers in the night
It holds young lovers
In the moon light
It shelters a stranger
From the bitter cold
Blessed is the family
Standing like the oak

There’s a knot in its side
Where honey tends to weep
A symbol of all the times
We struggle, our defeats
Fire and lightning strikes
Scar its weathered cheeks
Swaying and bending
The strength among the meek

It reaches toward the heavens
Whispers in the night
It holds young lovers
In the moon light
It shelters a stranger
From the bitter cold
Blessed is the family
Standing like the oak

It reaches toward the heavens
Like the mighty oak

When I Get Over You

Written By: © 2007 Teddie Cochran

When I get over you I'll take a trip
To some place that I've never been
Maybe Paris in the spring
Or autumn in Beijing
That is what I......am gonna do
When I get over you

When I get over you I'll build a ship
And sail the sea of tears that I've wept
Maybe hold you in my dreams
Or ask that I'm redeemed
Then I will know we are through
When I get over you

I'll dance across the sky
Take a moonbeam for a ride
Or catch a rainbow
I'll scale that mountain I can't climb
Touch the stars high in the sky
Then I will know I'm over you
That I'm over you

When I get over you I'll be just fine
I'll open that bottle of sixty-nine
Maybe go to church and pray
The end begins this way
The Lord will see me through this I know
And I'll get over you

I'll dance across the sky
Take a moonbeam for a ride
Or catch a rainbow
I'll scale that mountain I can't climb
Touch the stars high in the sky
Then I will know I'm over you
That I'm over you

These are the things I'll do
When I get over you
When I get over you
When I get over you

The Wishing Chair

Written By: © 2007 Teddie Cochran

On a clear spring morning
It was the usual quiet moment
One expects to find
Within these adobe walls
You could hear whisperin' maidens
As their wishes were laden
Upon the vintage chair

And Mary softly said

If you believe in the impossible
Reach for the unreachable
Trust in the miracle of the Lord
Let his love and your reverence
Bless you with his presents
As light from the heavens
Touch the wishing chair

They say the Priest requested
While giving her his blessing
She’d sit and wish her heart’s desire
He watched as the maiden
Sat and made her wantin’
Her expression of hope to find
Wishes do come true

She arose as if awakened
Of miracles in the makin'
From the velvet chair

And Mary softly said

If you believe in the impossible
Reach for the unreachable
Trust in the miracle of the Lord
Let his love and your reverence
Bless you with his presents
As light from the heavens
Touch the wishing chair

There is a legend
Of San Miguel Mission
And the wishing chair

Love Is A Canvas

Written By: Teddie Cochran

Furnished by nature
Excited by imagination
Two minds without a single thought
Honey-sweet nectar
Inspiring each emotion
Delight within each heart

Love is a canvas
Cheerful as the spring
A flurry of color
The joys that it brings
Love is a canvas
A key that opens gates
The strokes of an artist
Memories that each make
Love is a canvas

Artwork of genius
Embellished by the soul
Reflections of two lives growing old
Open in nature
Blending each caress
Delight with each romance

Love is a canvas
Cheerful as the spring
A flurry of color
The joys that it brings
Love is a canvas
A key that opens gates
The strokes of an artist
Memories that each make
Love is a canvas

A rainy day when you're not around
A wonderful play ground

Repeat chorus:

Tag:
A smile to put you on high
A dance to dance for life
Love is a canvas

Gradpas Fiddle

Written By: Cochran/Willow/Beeler

Music Cochran/Beeler

Intro: D///Bm///G///A///

I remember as a boy the joy that he would bring
Each time he'd rosin up his bow
I can hear Grandma singing the old melodies
To the rhythm of Grandpas fiddle
I keep it in my mind how he put on a show
Each time he'd open up his case
Folks would come from miles around and join the singing
To the medleys of Grandpas fiddle

Chorus:
Sweet and mellow were the tunes that came from his strings
Jingles dancing in the wind.............. twisting and turning
Breaking ties that can bind simple pleasures come to mind
Each time I hear Grandpas fiddle; I'm fiddlin' down the road

FIDDLE BREAK: D///Bm///G///A///

Their wealth didn't come from material things
For Grandma it did not matter
To her she was blessed with things you cannot see
Her life was rich as Grandpas fiddle
The love she revealed each time he would play
Each note a child she had raised
Lived the tales and yearnings, thier Sunday learnin'
Came the magic of Grandpas fiddle

Chorus:
Sweet and mellow were the tunes that came from his strings
Jingles dancing in the wind................ twisting and turning
Breaking ties that can bind simple pleasures come to mind
Each time I hear Grandpas fiddle; I'm fiddlin' down the road

FIDDLE BREAK: D///Bm///G///A///

He poured out his soul each time he pulled the bow
The care he would take as love somehow flowed

Chorus:
Sweet and mellow were the tunes that came from his strings
Jingles dancing in the wind................ twisting and turning
Breaking ties that can bind simple pleasures come to mind
Each time I hear Grandpas fiddle; I'm fiddlin' down the road
