Tehree

Through his unique stylings, Tehree encapsulates the smoothness of Maxwell, the vocal range of Kenny Lattimore and the intoxicating lyricism of Brian McKinght. It was at Winthrop University that he honed his vocal talents while pursuing a degree in music. Performing at countless on and off campus events, showcases and weddings, Tehree quickly became a popular local entertainer.

In its 25th Anniversary year-end issue, Music Connection Magazine said this singer, songwriter had one of the top 25 demos of the year!! In its July 8th issue, he received a rave review!! "North Carolina based Tehree is an R&B crooner whose six song demo is jammed with oh-so-smooth and caressing sounds, not the least of which is his impressive voice, equal part Brian McKnight and Luther Vandross. "Daisy" warms things up nicely...and "Inside of Love," the kind of female friendly R&B tunes that can drop panties for miles around. Production and arrangements are skilled, with attractive back-up vocals surges that cream from the speaker. A polished package of originals."

Tehree worked with the up-and-coming production team Soul Diggaz (K-Mak & Bless) based in Jersey City, New Jersey now signed to Missy Elliot’s production company. They have produced numerous tracks for various artist including Mary J. Blige, Chaka Kahn and Toya. They produced the title track from the current soundtrack “Fighting Temptation” performed by Beyonce featuring Missy Elliot, MC Lyte, and Free from 106 and Park. “Ebony Delight,” “Everybody Can’t Be Everything,” “Cocoa Lovin,” “Inside of Love” and “Love Is (As Love Does)” were all produced by the dynamic duo. Tehree also worked with producer Rik Marvel who produced two track with (Mad) Skillz. Rik produced seven songs on Tehree’s CD.

Two songs from his CD were submitted into two different national talent contests and Tehree was a finalist in both. America Online and Atlantic Records sponsored the “AOL First Break Contest”. Thousands of artist/bands submitted their material and AOL music executives narrowed the field down to 10. With AOL members voting, 10 became 2 and Tehree was 1 of the 2. The contest was promoted several days on the main AOL welcome screen which exposed his music to millions. He was flown to NY and recorded a live interview and performance for three of his original songs on the popular AOL Sessions. The contest exposed his music to millions of people around the world. It also propelled mp3 streams on his webpage located on IUMA.com (a website for unsigned artist) from 100 total streams a month to over 50,000 which more than tripled his online fan club through his website.
