"Iceland Airwaves"

The Telepathetics, a fairly new Icelandic band with, like, a totally foreign and cool sounding name. Their first album, Ambulance, is best heard in concert, especially for the audience participation in Last Song. - Iceland Express: Wednesday's Top 5

Singles released to radio:
"Castle",

Bio

The Telepathetics are a four piece rock outfit from Reykjavík, Iceland. The story of the Telepathetics begins back in 1993 when guitarist/vocalist Eyþór and drummer Andreas started playing together in bands at the tender age of 7. After going through frequent personnel changes (getting kicked out of a band is pretty easy when you're 9, apparantly) they were joined by guitarist Óttar and bassist/vocalist Hlynur in early 1999.

After many years of just hanging around after school writing and rehearsing songs in Andreas' basement the band realised that if they were to continue as a band they'd have to get their music out there. In 2004 and 2005 the band focused on gigging throughout Reykjavík and after sparking the interest of music mogul Alan McGee the band was subsequently approached by Icelandic record labels. However, after reviewing their options, the band decided against signing with a local label and instead made an album by themselves without the help of a record company.

In the summer of 2006 the band released their debut album entitled 'Ambulance'. This turned out to be a horrible decision as the boys got to experience, first hand some of the worst elements of the music industry (in the form of a pretty nasty distribution company) – and have yet to see a dime from album sales. But it wasn't all bad. Take for instance the reviews. The largest newspaper in Iceland said that "The Telepathetics could just become world famous" - of course they said it in hilarious, old fashioned Icelandic - but it still counts, right?

Now, with no money but the experience of more than 100 live gigs, fresh material and matching socks – they’re ready to take over the world... or at least a part of the world... any gig would be great, really... you know... or just a hot meal.
