Bio

Telling Stories is a ten year collaboration between Austin songwriters Julie Nolen and Terry Dossey.
Nolen rode in on a Greyhound from Abilene, Texas and a short time later met Dossey, a veteran producer and instrumentalist for various Austin female fronted bands including Natalie Zoe, Shelley King, Joanna DeJarnett, just to name a few.

Julie and Terry deliver solid songwriting and sprited performances, memorable melodies over danceable grooves which work equally well on the dance floor or in the coffeehouse, demonstrating that "attitude is audible."

Nolen and Dossey write across many genres including rock, pop, Latin, funk, Americana and country, the cohesive thread being solid funky grooves, melodic harmony vocals, and evocative and insightful lyrics. Their songs tell compelling stories of loves won and lost, betrayals and triumphs, and other convoluted tragedies and comedies relating to the human condition and relationships.

The band consists of an elastic and spellbinding
configuration of amazing Austin musicians anchored on drums by Daniel Jones, on bass by Joe Zito, and on keyboards by David Webb. They are equally at home in stage or studio, and can be seen performing weekly at many of Austin's finest venues or on the world stage through the medium of Second Life.

Telling Stories released its second album, "Dirty Little Secrets" on June 1st, 2010, and can currently be seen performing live on PACT TV in Austin, Texas. Their first CD, "Greyhound," was released in February 2004 to much critical acclaim, still selling steadily to date.
