Josh the Scribe and Manny “Manteka” San Gabriel (the musical mastermind) began collaborating in 2004 as founding members of the staunchly political hip-hop trio Dead Sea Scribes. Stingah (the singer) joined the crew in early 2006 bringing her raw vocal energy and intense stage persona to the mix. Despite little previous band experience, Stingah quickly proved that she has the talent and determination necessary to run with the big dogs, with a vocal range that spans from smooth to scorching. Thus, Temple of Roots was born.
