Bio

A Netherlands-based 5-piece combo with members from France, Italy and the Netherlands, Templo Diez mixes alt-folk, slow-core and darker pop influences in an intimate sound ranging from Sparklehorse to the Velvet Underground. They have garnered an impressive live reputation both at home and abroad, thanks to their emotional and driven performances.

Along the years, the band has collected no less than 5 American and 4 Canadian tours as well as gigs in France, Spain and the UK, including festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, In the City (UK), CMW and NXNE. In their home country, they played at major events such as Crossing Border, Motel Mozaique, The Music in my Head,... and venues as Paard, Paradiso or Tivoli among others.

Released in 2003, their debut album “Hoboken” garnered raving reviews, as did their sophomore CD “Winterset” (2006), showing their progression towards a larger sound full of contrast and intensity rooted in frontman Pascal Hallibert's left field songwriting. Following the transitional 2008 “Crowheart” EP, the last part of the
trilogy (titled “Merced”) was released in May 2009, showcasing an ever-developing musical collective pledging allegiance to song dynamics, sonic architectures and above all, emotions and atmospheres.

A new promotional EP ("Freiheit", June 2010, recorded at the occasion of their 4th Canadian tour that year) preceded the January 2011 release of their 4th album "Greyhounds" which garnered again praise from the musical press.

The band is currently recording their new opus and honing their new songs on stage in a series of selected gigs.
