Tempus Fugitives was born deep in The Bayou in Ottawa! The band started in 2005 when guitarist/singer Steve Brenninkmeyer teamed up with bassist Dave Johnston to showcase their talents at weekly jam sessions at the former Bayou bar in Ottawa. They soon encountered well-known local vocalist Cyndi Kennedy and before long the trio were making music together.
Add in one of the hottest percussion sections in Ottawa, Nenad Duricic on drums and Latino sensation Alvaro Krietz on congas, bongos and a huge assortment of noise makers.
The ultimate lead guitar power comes from Izzy Martinez, the pride of Mexico who joined Tempus Fugitives after touring extensively in Europe.
Put them all together and the result is pure verve. They cover one of the widest ranges of any band in the Ottawa area and bring it on home with great originals.
Tempus Fugitives cant be pinned to a category. Their energy is high, their music addictive. You just cant sit still to this band. Sometimes its funky, sometimes straight ahead rock, blues or even a Latin-influenced ballad.
But, it is always cool.
In just over a year, Tempus Fugitives has taken the Ottawa music scene by storm. From successful bar gigs where they set records to showcasing their talents at Ottawas Super Ex, Tempus Fugitives time has come.
