While happy go lucky or whimsical and serious about their art pianist/guitarist Sven Anderson and vocalist/pianist Janet Tenaj combine these elements in a spicy modern jazz context to make music that is all their own. A pair unique unto themselves constructing melodic or harmonic phrases with clever lyrics produces a sound unlike anyone else. Check out their stunning, personalized version of "Dearly Beloved", the steamy "Slow Hot Wind" and the tender title track "You & I". Sven's Afro-Cuban & Brazilian tendencies & Janet's smart way of turning a phrase of mere words into extrapolated visionary poetry. Award winning Jazz/Brazilian music based out of Detroit. We are a diverse group. Sven Anderson, M.M. in Composition- piano and nylon string guitar. Writing original arrangements and Award Winning compositions, Detroit Metro Music Awards, Oakland Piano Concerto. Music Director for the legendary Little Jimmy Scott, Rat Pack Is Back. Performed with Martin Short, Clay Aiken, Robert Goulet, Regis Philben, .
Janet Tenaj -Vocals, piano, songsmith & lyricist. Playing festival venues from Canada through the States. Created a children's educational music program that is endorsed by the late, great Billy Taylor, NEA Jazz Master.
Rob Emanuel - Drums/percussion - Drummer extraordinaire playing jazz, Cuban, Brazilian. Drummer for the popular group Teen Angels for over 20 years.
John Barron - Electric guitar/bass - Played with Betty LaVette, Alberta Adams. Has written hundreds of CD reviews as well as published music educational articles.
Eugene (Bud) Zenzen - Cello. Well known pit musician for The Opera House and Fox Theater to name a few.
Jordan Schug - Graduated from the famous North Texas State. This young bass "phenom" is in great demand.
Influences range from Bach, Mozart to Bartok, to Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Monk, Shirley Horn, Jimmy Scott, Lightning Hopkins, Hendrix, Zappa, Herbie Hancock, Beatles, Jobim, Djvan.
