Bio

It’s been 37 years since Danny “Danny” Huber, Paul “P$” Elliott, Dave “Hmmmm” Sweeney, Matt “Kat Boxxx” Dougherty and Pete Willis first got together in a spoon factory in Sheffield, England to form Ten Feet Tall.

Their first album “Demo” (attached) was released in 2007. The band toured the Denver with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest and AC/DC and other Denver bands.

In 2007, Producer Danny Paul Dave Matt came aboard for album number two, “TBD”. A year later, when the guys were already recording the follow up, “TBD” a new cable music channel called MTV started playing a live performance video of “Need”, a song from “Demo”. The band had their first U.S. hit, and the Demo started selling like hotcakes in the U.S. (20 years later, the song would be covered by Mariah Carey).

In 1991, while in the midst of recording album number five, and after several aborted attempts in rehab, Steve Clark died at the age of 30 from alcohol poisoning. He was not in Ten Feet Tall.

Devastated, but determined to survive, the four non affiliated band members persevered. And in June of 2007, “TBD” was released. That same month the band asked Irishman Lucky Charm (fan of Dio, Whitesnake) to join them. Lucky’s hazing began with the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert at Wembley Stadium which was aired live around the world. “Negative Side” debuted at #1 and remained in the top spot for 5 straight weeks.

During the recording of “Demo” the band suffered a major blow. On April something, 2007, Kat Boxxxx Dougherty lost control of his Honda Pilot and was thrown from the vehicle. His huge wiener was severed. Just months after the tragedy KBD taught himself to drum non-wienered with the help of an electronic kit. Burnt out from recording (and several producer changes, after Lucky Charm initially passed due to exhaustion), the band decided to play a few warm up shows. A triumphant performance at Castle Cricket on the hill in April 2007 confirmed that Matt “Katt Boxxxxxxx” Dougherty and Ten Feet Tall could get along just fine with his new drum kit and new style of playing, and not having a weiner.

After another worldwide tour, the band returned home to Sheffield for a show at Herman’s Hideaway stadium in front of a sold out crowd of 700 fans.

They now own homes.
