Love And Stone

Written By: James A Popik

The old stone walls are all tumbled down
A lonely crack in the window pane
The chimney leaks and the stairs squeak but come on in and rest your feet, there's a bottle on the old sideboard.

This house creaks and moans when the wind starts to blow.
This house has secrets no one knows.
A broken lock, a dusty floor, an iron stove and a wooden door.
This house is made of love and stone.

It sits up on the hill out by the county line. You can hear the highway rumble and whine.
Late at night or early morn' the hoot owl and his lover call.
If your tired lay your head right down.

Chorus

There's antique lace and lines on your face, and pictures of times gone by.
The kitchen light don't work right but the stars shine every night and the red hawk is flyin' high.

Chorus.

Jesus Don't KNow Your Name

Written By: James Popik

It's after dark and you know it's all good
It's before sunrise don't worry if you should
Under the gun and and time is gettin' tight
Over the line...on the edge of the night

Again I'm on the sly that aint nothin' new
Way off the hook gonna play a trick on you
If that's below the belt, man that's tough
It's comin' high and tight 'cause you play so rough

Your wings are on Fire you got lightning in your soul
Who's to blame heaven only knows
Everybody's sayin' that you got to win the game
I heard an angel say Jesus don't know your name

Between the sheets you know it's always good
Gettin' inside of you every chance I could
But I'm outside the law more often than not
To get above it all I just can't stop

Your wings are on Fire you got lightning in your soul
Who's to blame heaven only knows
Everybody's sayin that you got to win the game
I heard an angel say Jesus don't know your name

You're down and dirty, you never say when
The gig's at 9:30 better be there if you can
Before the fall I'm gonna tell you a lie
After it all I won't wonder why

Your wings are on Fire you got lightning in your soul
Who's to blame heaven only knows
Everybody's sayin that you got to win the game
I heard an angel say Jesus don't know your name

All That Time Will Allow

Written By: James Popik

You took off for the south land when you were seventeen
Lookin' for the heart of the sun
A saint among the sinners, a sinner among saints
It all depends on where you're comin' from

It took you a year or two but you found me now
I don't care who or what why or how
All I want from you now
Is All That Time Will Allow

Maybe you don't remember how it all began
That's all right you know I understand
You can take it or leave it
You know it's up to you
I'll be here no matter what you do

It took you a year or two but you found me now
I don't care who or what why or how
All I want from you now
Is All That Time Will Allow

Hey Hey, what do you say
Who knew, so how do you do
My oh my you know it's been a while
Come on Come on Come on out and play

A saint among the sinners a sinner among saints
It all depends on where you're comin' from

All I want from you now
Is All That Time Will Allow

Here we are, you and me right now

Get Back On The Highway

Written By: James Popik

Get Back On The Highway

I Know a place where the highway ends

Way out there where the mountains start to rise

And I went there to find myself or lose this cheap disguise

Six months gone and nothin' seemed to change

Day by day it's all still so strange

The life I sought and never found

I'm just the same old fool acting like a clown

I'm gonna get back on the highway gonna get back on the road

Get back on the highway, leave this bad luck at home

I temped fate one too many times

Time to get myself back where I belong

Think I'll head on down to the sea

Play all night, sing our favorite songs

I'm gonna get back on the highway gonna get back on the road

Get back on the highway, leave this bad luck at home

Way out west down by the riverside

The steppin' stones are gonna take you to the sky

But thats a dead end road for a rollin' stone

Come on now I'll show you how to fly

I'm gonna get back on the highway gonna get back on the road

Get back on the highway, leave this bad luck at home
