Bio
Ten Ton Mojo is a rock band on the rise. Alabama-born Ernie Papp's powerful lyrics and whiskey-soaked vocals, combined with the swaggeringly hard-edged guitar melodies crafted by Scott Lano and Gabe Mera, reveal a wisdom and experience that can only come from men who have been around the block a few times. Chris Laubis and Paul Kane provide the perfect complement with a solid, groove-heavy rhythm section. Their music is undeniably rock with heavy guitars and solid, hip-shaking rhythms, but is also tinged with traces of country, classic rock, blues and soul – all blended together with a distinctly Southern vibe.
With a past year that included performances opening for Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, The Supersuckers, The Dirty Pearls, and The Compulsions, Ten Ton Mojo has been playing their signature sound to packed audiences and has inspired thousands of new and old fans alike. The band’s first, self-titled release includes the hit singles “Pinball Girl,” featured in the movie Pinball Donut Girl and “One and Only,” a high-energy, bluesy tune that was recently licensed by Suzuki for its fall 2015 ATV ad campaign.
Currently being hailed as “easily the best rock band in New York City,” Ten Ton Mojo has been actively conquering the NYC music scene, garnering an extensive cross-over audience and transcending the highly stratified live music scene.
